I have noticed in wider society that men externally demand that others are self reliant and responsible for their own actions. This is particularly noticeable in two separate areas, the criminal justice system and politics. Speakers such as Tate and Peterson often talk about one taking responsibility for ones actions.

This thinking however does not seem to extend to their dependents. It's is not uncommon for fathers to walk away from pregnant partners or their children post childbirth. Their obligation to their now dependent children becomes a burden they regularly neglect.

There is a common argument made that a man should be allowed to walk away from a child, which to a degree they already can. They neglect their child's emotional and developmental needs by being absent fathers, this comes at huge social cost as children of single parent households (as argued by the same group) tend to have higher rates of criminality when reaching adulthood.

Financially they also wish to avoid paying child support, which leads to increased levels of poverty and government programmes having to adopt the burden of the man's failure to his dependents.

So as I said earlier, why do men like this feel like society should accept the burden of their decisions, take on their responsibility when they are quick to attack others who do the same?
