DISCLAIMER: This is not about intentionally isolating yourself and avoiding the opposite sex at all cost to a discriminatory degree, this is about making a life for yourself that is fulfilling without a partner instead of blaming everyone else for not fulfilling your personal needs.

By they I only mean an acceptance that others will either like you or not and that being yourself to a certain, healthy degree, while expecting nothing from the world is the least challenging or problematic path for people of all genders and walks of life. Nonconformity, a disinterest in others approval, focusing on one’s on hobbies and passions, is far far better than obsessive self improvement to the detriment of your own happiness purely for sex and validation, or miserable wallowing and seething in chronically online spaces and proposing fascist oppression of the opposite gender to resolve your personal failures to appeal to them.

Going your own way respects your own autonomy and other people’s consent. Ignoring beauty standards and performative success for personal joys and a small close knit community or friend group empowers you to value yourself and others beyond shallow ideals. Throwing yourself authentically into the nondestructive practices that connect you to your own best qualities such as art, music, video games, sports, dancing, once you’ve disconnected from others opinions is a powerful kind of joy that no one can take from you. You cannot change this entire world, no matter how much you scream and cry and back and belittle.

You can express your feelings to feel heard but at times it’s healthy to accept that no one sees the world exactly as you do as we are all so individual. You may bind yourself to people who understand or empathize with your position but you cannot change all of this world to suit you. Stop trying to be something that everyone will like. Stop trying to transform this world into the kind that values you above all others. Just formulate your own path and leave people who don’t want to be a part of it in the dust. Why are so few people following this philosophy as of late?
