The FDS subreddit recently had a post that recommended that women take their man out for a romantic date over gifting him a PS5. I called it a cheap shot and was very promptly banned from the subreddit.

The response from the mod: Aww, I see the boys don't like romantic walk dates anymore.

I find this particularly hilarious because, a) I am a girl and I would much rather be gifted a PS5 than be taken out on an expensive date. Tbh, I recently entered into a relationship and luckily was able to land one PS5 between us that we split the cost on. His pre-order was unfulfilled and my pre-order went through. b) A date is for a single night or a few hours, a PS5 could potentially last you 5 years, longer than a standard relationship.

In the end, I suppose I have two questions:

  1. PS5 or a romantic date? (Putting aside financial constraints)
  2. People in relationships: Do you really care about what your partner wants when buying gifts?

Genuine question because I am a relationship autist.
