If you’re tall, have broad shoulders, have a good head shape, can grow a beard, and are muscular then premature balding shouldn’t be a problem. Otherwise premature balding is a huge problem and you need to do everything you can to prevent it.

Just don’t ever get fat. Men over 40 go bald and women largely just accept it but when it starts in your teens/early 20s it puts you behind in the race. Hit the gym, improve the things that you can control and don’t get too hung up over it.

NGL on this one, premature balding is gonna hurt a man who is dating. But it goes back to the idea of compensation that so many people on this sub deny. I do know men who started balding in their 20s but had other traits that made them attractive to women so they did fine.

Also I’ve observed that it hurts black men a lot less because they can shave it all off and the dark skin conceals the trick. Mr Blu started receding is his early 30s and decided to go the shave route. I remember him saying I should just take it all off and I said, good I love bald men. He just stared at me for a second. But he hasn’t had hair since.

It’s also about how you handle it. A lot of middle aged guys will just let it keep growing in the back and sides looking like a circus clown or do the combover thing.

Balding badly in your teens/20’s puts you in the “bro you look 30+” zone which is considered elderly in ur teens/early 20’s.

If you are norwooding a little bit you can get away with it no problem tho.

Young women (teens-25) do not want a bald guy. They will always pick a hair guy. Thats not to say all badly balding men are virgin losers tho, it just takes them down a big notch tho

I dated a prematurely balding guy from 20-24, he was 3 or so years older and it was almost half gone. He was only 5’9 and had an average face too.Omg I wasted my best years on an AFC beta Instead of Chad gangbangs, omg! Lol.... it may be a deterrent if you are trying to date extremely shallow women, or don’t have any game or a fun exto persona to make up for it. Also, If you have a terrible skull shape I’m sorry. But you always have the ability to get lean, lift, shave it, and beard max. So baldness is always going to knock off a few points for immediate smv but it can be made up for by all of the other attributes in the weighted averages of SMV. Depends on if you can pull off the bald look. Also how willing you are to take hair growth drugs. No matter what it is a disadvantage but it will vary wildly from person to person.

Very sorry to say, but many women, particularly young women, definitely find baldness unattractive. That said, thats not to say it makes you a leper either. Lots of women would date/sleep with a bald guy and find them attractive. It helps if you have other attractive qualities of course, such as tall, good facial hair or good looking face etc.

You werent asking advice per se, but I’d like to offer some anyway. I think often the most unattractive aspect about balding men is when they are in denial that it’s happening or try to hide it instead of embracing it with confidence. ie wearing hats all the time, or keeping their hair long thinking it hides the thin areas when it actually would look FAR better shaved most of the time. Just admit it to yourself, own it and shave it. Better yet, get some Scalp Micropigmentation you’ll look 1000x better with a shaved head that has a bit of a shadow rather than blindingly shiny.

any visual defect is a disadvantage. However, it is not the most important thing in relationships. Also, it depends on how shallow relationships you are looking for.

It depends a lot on your other features and who you're trying to attract. Some women don't care, some women like the shaven head masculine look, and some women don't like it. I personally don't care, but I can't speak for all women

I think some more vapid women will care, especially if looking for a hook up or for someone to brag on Instagram about. But a lot of women will overlook this if looking for more serious relationships and the bald guy has a lot of other things going for him (good job, fit body, height, nice face etc)

Depends on if you look good with a shaved head or not. NGL, obviously thinning hair is not attractive on anyone, but bald can work, especially if paired with well-groomed facial hair. If you have a weird shaped head, you might consider a hair transplant.

It can be a big one, i myself started losing my hair at 17.

I just owned it, I shaved it all off and grew a goatee and I bulked up on muscle.

Whatever you do, do not try to do some combover shit, nothing looks worse than that.

Balding is not that bad if you have a masculine frame/face that supports the look like Joe Rogan and the Rock. You can compensate by staying slim because later on people get fat and that on it's own balances things out.

You can prevent balding from happening for the most part by microneedling with minoxidil. Luckily my father still has a full head of hair at the age of 54.

I went bald in my early twenties and I'm 26 now. No big deal I thought I'll just shave it off and get some new pics for my online dating profiles.

Oh how wrong I was. Although my pictures are good women just aren't interested anymore. I would say a 80% decrease in success is being optimistic.

Depends. If you have a nice neutral shaped head it can look good, ie Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, Zinedine Zidane. If you have a weird shaped head like Prince William, you won't look good

In the US, I assume—it's not that common world wide.

In any case, I consider short hair—not at least to well over the shoulders—misshapen and for freaks, if you wear a wig that's fine, if you shave your head and just always wear wigs because it's more convenient even though your natural hair is still there that's also fine but short hair looks disgusting and balding is the least of it's concern. I would take a bizarre looking skullet over short hair.

In my 20s, I really cannot remember, but my sister dated and married my brother-in-law who started in his teens. So she didn't mind.

My first post-divorce love shaved his head. I was shocked when I learned he had a full head of hair. He just liked the full shaved look. I guess I did too!

It’s not good, but shaving is in most cases the better choice over trying to be in denial about it. Lots of women like buzzcuts and find them hot, and shaving is just one degree more. But you don’t usually see women going crazy for balding specifically.

I remember being at a club once and overhearing two girls talk about a guy and trying so hard to talk themselves into thinking balding was ok.

Back in highschool when I was both fat and had thinning hair (very thin) I still got asked out by two girls (I never asked any out), my only good qualities that would counter this was my height (6'4") and my charisma (lots of jokes and they would "hit" like 99% of the time, quick thinking and good timing too), one of the girls actually asked me multiple times over the years we were at the school together. I never did any research into how much my good qualities (height + charisma) would counter the bad (fat + thinning hair + bad acne), although I still believe that they helped out somehow.
