I’ve accepted that I’ll never get back the 1.5k my LVM moocher ex owes me... doesn’t mean I’m not still salty about it.

Clown Me supported my ex for a year after he was tossed out so he’d be stable to share custody of our daughter. Cue circus music.....
[–]miss_tokieFDS Newbie56 points57 points58 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
And at least he is stable for your daughter (thanks to you). I can't get my ex to even buy diapers for our daughter, yet he is just sooo broken up about not getting to see her (its not my choice, yet). He has def made a clown out of me one too many times but good riddance! My future looks brighter than ever and I hope yours does, too!

You're not a fool for that. It shows you have a big kind heart, and that you may have to put some steel around the borders but don't. You were kind and it's his fck up for ruining that.

[–]Rasaya87FDS Newbie7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Man I feel you. I think, in my kindness, pre-FDS, I spent about 3k or more over the course of a year on my own NVM ex and his roommate.
Never again.
You're damn right I'm salty about it, since it turned out to be financial abuse when the dumbass couldn't be arsed to provide the same, among other things. He even outright told me, in a conversation about money and financial stability, "You!" gleefully. I was his cash cow, bangmaid mommy, despite my constantly telling him that I couldn't keep doing it. Lesson learned.

Exactly this, sis.
My ex hated gold diggers, called a lot of women wh*res and sl*ts and any woman who was with a well-off man was a gold digger. Then he borrowed 3000€ from me and called me a stingy jew when he had to repay. He still owes me 1000€ and has no intention to pay back, he lives in a different country so it's easy for him to avoid the responsibility.
[–]Davina33FDS Disciple36 points37 points38 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
He racially abused you? As if not giving you your money back isn't bad enough. What a scumbag.
[–]helena939392FDS Newbie38 points39 points40 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The most ridiculous part is, we're both from the same country in Europe with same ethnicity, he just called me a stingy jew because in his opinion I was being cheap wanting my 3k back :D

[–]Unlikely-MarzipanRuthless Strategist174 points175 points176 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
So true. It’s actually a pandemic how much this seems to be happening. Especially with low effort relationships now where guys cheat or at least microcheat on their regular sex maid, who is supposed to feel so happy she’s been chosen as the relationship girl.
[–]hotorangetofuFDS Newbie49 points50 points51 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I’m sorry but what?
“Micro-cheat“ ???
I’ve googled the word and I cannot believe someone has successfully managed to come up with an expression to minimize abuse even more.
I’m honestly so tired of all this. You know, because of micro-trauma.
[–]Unlikely-MarzipanRuthless Strategist24 points25 points26 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I know, it’s crazy. I first heard it in a YouTube video on narcissists, and looked it up also. I feel like it’s just another way to excuse abusive behaviour, which has now become acceptable from men (because of Porn acceptance and social media etc.) and I feel like the boundaries are slowly slipping out, when eventually actual physical cheating will be under the “micro-cheating” banner too. I don’t have a lot of faith in where our society is headed...

Especially since when women pair with men for the sole purpose of money, she usually accepts that she will have to repay it with sex. So it's not quite accurate to say that he's being used - they're making an exchange.
Meanwhile, there a quite few tales in this sub of women providing money, accommodation and sex, and getting little to nothing in return, and a bottomless pit of OLD propositions along those same lines.
[–]AnodynicFDS Newbie245 points246 points247 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
It's always the broke ones that use terms like "gold diggers" too. The ones who actually have the kind of money to attract people who want money are the ones too busy enjoying their lives to deal with that kind of negative mindset.
[–]99powerFDS Apprentice89 points90 points91 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
And the people who have that kinda money can simply...pretend not to have it, and make friends naturally. Most do that actually. We can’t pretend not to have vaginas.

Kind of like how many women who’ve actually been abused are quiet while the ones who haven’t had to fend off a fly pick more fights.

[–]AlextheAnalystPickmeisha™️9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'm almost certain that's not what she was getting at. It sounds to me like she's just saying that people who have never actually dealt with group X are having more to say about group X than those who have.
I could be wrong, but that's how I read it.

Ugh yeah.
I've had an ex try to get me to prorate his part of the rent for the month he was moving out due to us having broken up. My response was "hey, I'm happy to have a conversation about each of us settling up for a financially fair split... but are YOU sure that's a conversation you want to have?" Didn't hear a peep about it afterward. (I had paid 75% of our rent for a good 2+ years of our relationship as well as most bills. And not because of some agreement, but because he had gotten fired and was having trouble finding full time employment.)

This is such a good reminder. Women can often see themselves as “superior” when they are chosen to be wifey, over the “other” women. But often it is the woman who will take the most crap that will end up as wifey... and will be exhausted by all the demands put on her. There really isn’t many ways for women to actually win if they choose to deal with men unfortunately.

Exactly! I get $130 per month each for my two kids. I could be getting a LOT more but I didn’t want to stir the pot with my juvenile, vengeful ex husband. I have friends who are the same. One of my friends got divorced and her ex got their house and was supposed to give her half the profits upon selling it. He made 100k profit and kept it all to himself. She was so disgusted with him at that point she didn’t even pursue her 50k share. I thought she was crazy but that’s how beaten down she was by this guy. She spent age 21-45 being abused emotionally by this jackass. Now she’s out in the dating world getting used for sex by men. She’s such a nice person, makes me sick. Men can cry golddiggers all they want, the worst ones I’ve seen were men.

Wow. I decided that dysfunctional insecurity in men is a deal breaker for me. It manifests in so many at strange ways that are usually at a woman’s detriment when she tolerates it. I’m done walking on eggshells, being an emotional punching bag, and trying to understand their weird hang ups rooted entirely in fixable shortcomings.
[–]Unlikely-MarzipanRuthless Strategist56 points57 points58 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
So true! My ex (I broke up with him when I discovered FDS) was always too broke to take me anywhere. We went on a work trip and his boss paid for everything, and gave him the day off on my last day to take me out. I had to pay for most of the drinks and food! He said he didn’t have any money...
I also gave him $1000 to fix his car... he paid back half, said he would pay me back the rest the following week when he got his tax return. It actually took him another two months to begrudgingly give me the rest back.
Our whole relationship started with me buying the second round of drinks and him accepting that. When I think back, most guys wouldn’t dream of it the first few dates! Even multiple dates in wouldn’t even take my money. And yea, the rest of the relationship followed with me forking out more. He didn’t even have money for gas to visit me most times and was too lazy!
Oh on our third date we were supposed to go to the beach and his car broke down... so he cancelled on me. Instead of catching an Uber or putting in effort to go elsewhere he just said “I’m feeling pretty lazy how about you come over tomorrow for dinner instead.” I assumed his “I feel lazy” meant that he was depressed and feeling sheepish about his car breaking. No. Nope. He was just actually a lazy guy who put in no efforts. And ended up being a liar and cheat and gaslighter.

You know it. They use women as much if not more than woman use men financially, yet all these subs exist for men to complain that only women do it. You know “take half your shit”. They got the shit part right, cause most of them have shit to even take. They can’t even support themselves, or barely. They have no ambitions either so they claim to be going their own way but the reality is they’re dying for the love of a woman. I’m not one to look for money, I’m happy just getting by for now, but I’ve turned down more than a few guys with money so the idea that women would sacrifice chemistry and true love for money is absurd to me. Sure some women do that, when A LOT of money is involved, but no woman is going to get with Todd to try and steal his 2005 Saturn and prize silver dollar collection. Silly fools. Men complaining about gold diggers are telling on themselves. They're projecting and almost 100% using you, not the other way around, though not always financially. At my last relationship (for about 2 years), the guy didn't a place to live and would not even keep a rented place for more then 5 months (He moved out about 6 times and now is living with his mother). No studies (has just his high school certificate) and no stable job, he work for some weeks or 4 months and the rest of the year just nothing. The only thing that he has is seat ibiza from long time ago that his parents gave to him. Well well, this guy would say that big part of the women in his country are gold diggers, he judges pretty and young women with older or ugly guys, he once even said that saw his ex (she is 24 yo with a older guy, he is 37 yo) and that she behaving like a prostitute.
