I am sure he has been gaslighting, breaking her self-esteem down, and eroding her boundaries for as long as they are together. Her reaction is NOT healthy, and he played part in ensuring so.

An undocumented woman in my town was trapped in this apartment and forced to do "amateur" porn (videos, pictures) with her "boyfriend" posing as her on social media.
Her papers had expired, the boyfriend didn't let her get her paperwork done until she overstayed her visa. She was supposed to be deported but stayed at the domestic shelter I used to volunteer at (I wasn't doing much). She didn't even know what her accounts were. Disgusting, utter disgust. Maybe I should make a post but I don't want to out too much.

I really advise against women letting men record them. There is a high chance you won’t be with him in the long haul, and yet he will always have those recordings and pictures of you. The first doesn’t indicate anything about his character. The second, is that supposed to mean he needs it to look at when he’s on the road? He doesn’t. If he can’t remember what she looks like then he needs to pay attention when they’re together, not record it so he can focus on the “hottest” parts and be desensitized to the real experience.

People consider me intelligent, and I never thought I would be "dumb" enough to be in an abusive relationship until ... I woke up and I realized I was in an absuive relationship. And most of my friends thought it was perfect and "goals". Only one of my friends recognized it for what it was.
I feel intense empathy and sadness for women who end up with these men and who feel the problem is them not their partner.
Edit: I didn't actually wake up and realize it. I saw some support pieces where women went to the internet for help and the advice was you were being abused. They had no clue either. I picked up a copy of "why does he do that" to prove I wasn't being abused and went shit .... I ended a 17 relationship a month later.
