Often on PPD, and sometimes in real life I'll hear women say they, or even most women in general, regularly become attracted to a man they didn't find attractive initially. It might be his humor, his skills, his passions, etc... but the point is she becomes attracted to him while she initially didn't find him physically attractive or charming or exciting.

The thing is I've never experienced this and have never seen it happen in my social circle either. The saying that a woman knows within 2 minutes if she'll ever let you touch her basically fits my experience.

So this makes me curious: is it just rare, or only something a particular kind of woman who is overrepresented on reddit does, or am I (30) simply too young, are these just women learning to have realistic standards versus their own SMV, or is my social circle just an outlier?

I'd love to hear your theories, or your stories if you're a woman who has gone through this or a man it has happened to (optional: state your gender and the age you were at the time of the story)

EDIT: I'm not talking about the yellow zone. The women I've heard talking about this specifically said the man just didn't register/wasn't attractive to them, example from this thread . The yellow zone is different and is something men have as well. But I'm open to the theory that some women who talk about this subject do actually mean the yellow zone, making it seem like becoming attracted over time is more common than it really is.
