Often times on PPD and some other woman-oriented subs/forums, it's often said that "the bar is in hell" for men and that women have to lower their standards just to have a relationship with a man.

However, I'm going to put a twist on this commonly said phrase and flip it to insinuate that the bar, indeed, IS in hell but only for women, especially under the age of 30.

Women under the age of 30 are realistically held to almost no practical standard in the modern age. Any man who criticizes observable patterns among modern women is deemed a hateful misogynist and an incel, even if he expresses his concerns in the most milquetoast manner.

Men, on the other hand, are held to high standards. A man being able to attract women by doing the bare minimum of having a steady job, being responsible, and not being an abusive jerk is more of an ideal prospect than how things actually occur in reality. If it were really that simple, the Red Pill and the Black Pill would've never taken off the way it did. But modern women have to rationalize the dating woes of men by accusing any man who fails at dating of either being an unemployed bum, a hideous neckbeard, or a hateful misogynist.

Men are still largely expected to live up to certain standards via looks, height, finances, lifestyles, social clout, etc.

By contrast, there's almost no rigid standard placed upon modern women today.

Women aren't pressured to be good cooks anymore. Women aren't pressured to be SAHMs/housewives anymore. Women aren't pressured to be lovely, supportive wives anymore. Women aren't pressured to be fit/thin/skinny anymore. Women can look absolutely mediocre or even ugly in the face and still get tons of matches on dating apps. Women can have the personality of a rock and get a pass for it. Women can have a body count that rivals porn star actressses and still be considered a good catch. Women can be single moms with multiple kids born out of wedlock and still bounce from one decent man after the next. Women can be perpetually underemployed or work minimum wage and not be considered losers like many men in the same predicament. Women can be tall and still have numerous guys, short and tall, desire them. Women to this day are not pressured to ask men out despite how lopsided dating is against men these days.

And the list goes on and on. The bar is truly in hell when it comes to women because men will get labeled misogynists or incels for trying to hold them accountable for these things and feminists will make up every excuse in the playbook to coddle every other woman's dating issue.

Even sugar babies aren't held to actual standards anymore because the sugar daddies are more desperate and simp-like than ever before.

Sugar Daddy Gave Me A $41,000 Allowance - YouTube

No offense to the woman in the video but I've literally seen women who look exactly like her in Walmart and Piggly Wiggly. If this woman can score a sugar daddy, then the bar is truly in hell and half the women on Reddit who claim to be "ugly" or "forever alone" can go ahead and sign up for their allowance.

Let's face it. Modern women will sound like right wing Republicans when giving men advice in lieu of our dating woes. They'll tell us to suck it up, pull up our bootstraps, work harder, stop complaining, stop acting entitled to women, fix our personality, life isn't fair, etc. And I'm actually perfectly fine with this stoic advice for men believe it or not. But then they'll turn around go completely soft on fellow women in lieu of their dating woes.

At the end of the day, saying that the "bar is in hell" for men ignores the fact that there's tons of men who aren't abusive jerks, aren't unemployed bums, and aren't sexists who still have limited dating options due to being judged by the actual criteria that women use to determine which men they want and the recent data showing the disparity in "single" status confirms this. Simply being a sane and responsible adult won't give men options in contrast to more effective factors such as high income, tall height, good looks/body, good social status, etc.

By contrast, I can't think of one rigid standard that women are actually being held to. As I mentioned before, the days of women being held to high expectations for dating and relationships is practically a thing in the past. Most men aren't in a position to enforce these high standards for women and that along with 4th wave feminism is why the bar is in hell for today's women.
