there was a post on worldnews about the birthrate/mariage rate being low in south korea. they mentioned how inflation, cost of living, maternity, etc. play into that. But Some users brought up the fact that Their female friends tended to not want to date man who are less educated or less earning then them. SO it got me thinking, Based on research i've read here(lurking).

  • most men are not attractive to most women.
  • despite point one, most women got married because they needed the men to survive.
  • now that women are equal to men for the most part, they don't need men.
  • because they don't need man and most men aren't attractive to woman. there will be less marriages and children.

I guess my overall point is that, even if governments fixed housing, maternity, jobs, and whatever else. as long as women are equal to men, their will still be a drop in birth rates due to hypergamy and there's really nothing governments can do about it. Am i right or wrong? if so, why?

PS I've had this thought for a while, but i didn't know where on reddit to ask it without being banned. also Please be gentle its my first time :)
