I think it’s just adding extra fluff to the same sense of men wanting to feel needed. They feel that they still have to conform to strict gender roles without getting the women + children who operate under their authority.

I can’t see how there is any other interpretation of this apart from it being about access to women who will “submit” to them. This does sound uncharitable but they never seem to make any real arguments about the socioneconomic factors that plague them specifically. For which there are many. They just seem to focus their frustration on their access to women. And how those women view them.

First of all Rollo is a grifter, but he speaks some truth.

Let's get a drop-down on taxes paid by men vs who benefits from taxes men pay.

Right now over 60% of my gross income goes to the tax man. I know most men here a broke-ace mids, but let's go with someone who's above average.

How much do I see out of that tax money? Fuck all.

What's it going to? Some fucked up wars women voted on getting us into. Welfare subsidies for the brokie whores that don't even know who knocked them up or whose baby daddies are brokies themselves. Healthcare for the same. School and daycare subsidies for the same. Incentives, scholarships, grants, bursaries for women to get education, training, etc. I personally know women with 2, even 3 degrees, and they got bailed out or straight up paid for by my tax money. I paid for every single cent of my post-secondary.

And you know what? I'm okay with all that. But don't you dare for a second tell me I have authority over that money. Women will always have numeric superiority in the voting patterns, so federal and municipal spending will always be female-slanted.

The only real ways for me to exit this financially abusive fucked up relationship are to: 1. Dismantle the voting system as it stands right now by force, which is illegal. 2. Completely financially leave the west, which is beyond the means of a mid man.

Women's sugar daddy of today is Uncle Sam (the government), and the only sacrifice he asks for is their votes on what to do with men's money. And yes, the biggest taxpayers are still men.

I'm curious, what responsibilities he means? I see men having less than ever responsibilities - not even for themselves. All the "boys are doing poorly, men opt out of work" it's about men taking zero responsibility for themselves and their lives, when there isn't a woman in his life to take care of him.

Yes, it does feel like an emotionally charged mantra that is meant for the men who think they have too many responsibilities and not nearly enough authority; every one of them will envision his own troubles and probably come up with his own solution. At least in this video you've linked, Rollo doesn't denote what exactly he understands by responsibilities and authority, doesn't present related cases, and doesn't offer any answers or propositions on how to deal with this issue.

If a woman gets pregnant then she has 100% of the decision on whether to keep it or not, the man has to pay for or lose a child regardless of what he wants.

No fault divorce + alimony + child support means that a woman can terminate a marriage and the courts can decide he owes her money, and he has no way of truly vetoing the divorce or absolving himself of fiscal obligation.

It is not only that, for example, men have the burden of performance; in China/Korea it is expected from marriage-worthy men to own his own place, it is his responsibility. Any internal protection in society is done by men, any natural disaster handling is mostly done men. If we divide society by sexes, men have more responsibilities, in many cases more serious responsibilities, yet they have less political power, because women are majority of the voters.

And now I have a question from you, where did that "men have 100% responsibility and 0% authority." come from? Because it is not from clip you've included. Are you just histerical, like in examples of "male authority" you're providing?

Men are expected to provide for everyone ( or helping to solve a problem ) , and shamed for not. Even more so if a man can't get his act together ( not having use or skills ) and provide for himself. Women aren't expected to provide. But when they do ( and only for themselves ) , women invalidate men for it.

If anything women always get judged a lot more harshly for their parenting skills than men.

Responsibility - the state or fact of being accountable or to blame for something. All men share an unfair blame for crimes commited by men, for systems build by men, for expressing emotions and desires that are mostly exclusive to men. There are things like initialting dating, taking control of planning, expectation of being a leader, being generous, chivalrous. You can say you don't have to if you don't want to, which is fair, but is not really that simple in socium.

See, this is why any meaningful discussion is impossible. The moment men open their mouth about wanting something more for us, for our role and status in modern days, you lot jumps to fear mongering "You want to enslave women!". Arguably there is more societal pressure on men to work, men dont mind women not working. Not sure why but its just built into us, for instance I would have no problem if my wife decided to give up work but she wants to and chooses to work and I have no problem with that either. However I personally think she would start to resent me if I gave up work.

The authority bit is probably more complicated I guess you could argue that even though there is more pressure on men to be the main earner there is no assumption that they will have authority to make more decisions, everything is 50/50.

Obviously these are generalisations its definitely not 100% vs 0% probably more like 90% vs 50% so not an equal split but nothing like as extreme.

Making some assumptions: He’s talking about “manning up to take responsibility as a head of the household”, which I believe would probably mostly relate to how kids are raised.

My best guess for what this would realistically look like is he wants to discipline his kids in some way, but his wife doesn’t want him to. I doubt it has anything to do with finances or lifestyle decisions.

A good sign that someone’s talking crap is when they keep repeating some little mantra like this one without elaborating with any specific examples or definitions. This is because specific examples can be refuted, but your audience can fill in the blanks with whatever suits them when you’re speaking in catchy but vague phrases like “responsibility without authority.”

Men will hear this and go “Oh yeah! I feel like I have a lot of responsibilities but no authority. This guy gets what it’s like to be a man. I deserve muh authority.”

Except as a woman, I feel the same way, because the truth is… being an adult who doesn’t have a lot of money and power tends to mean quite a bit of responsibility without much authority. And if one were to break it down, it would be obvious that this is true for both genders and develop into class-consciousness instead of this men vs women charade. But as long as he keeps it vague, he can just keep using it to hook angry men and fuel the gender war.

Our president even does this. “Make America great again” doesn’t actually mean anything unless you define what “great” is. But that’s the key, everyone fills in the blanks with what they think “great” is, and there ya go.

Men don't really have any social responsibility. Nobody bats an eye at guys who have kids that they never see, in fact they're mire likely to have sympathy (for the father not the children).
