There is a common argument that all these "innate" concerns people have within relationships is a moot instinct. Things like promiscuity isn't a problem when we have the pill today. That sure, yeah in the past before the pill was a thing it could be seen as a problem, but today, with birth control, female sexuality shouldn't be a concern.

However... If the pill nullified women's inherent biological responsibilities and social taboos surrounding such, why is single motherhood at the highest in history? You would think with such great control over reproduction, single motherhood would be practically non-existent.

Yet, ironically, birth control has made concerns over the female responsibility of controlling birth even greater than it was before the pill. Today the pill has actually caused the opposite reaction. It's MORE high risk to have an unwanted pregnancy than before. So male concern over promiscuity are just as valid as they were before.
