I always thought that if you could see how many other people your match was talking to, it would make people's expectations more realistic. The deceptive lure of OLD is thinking that something better is one swipe away, which incentivizes people to keep trying for more even after they may have matched with someone suitable.

But if you're able to see that you're just one of 100 people trying to talk to someone, you'll be more likely to stick with a match that you might have a better chance of connecting with to beat the odds, rather than just shooting for the most attractive individual you can find.
