Here’s the thing. When I came to this sub I thought I had many valuable things. However, many of themen in this sub have made it clear that most of the things I have to offer aren’t really valuable to them. I’m not good looking. What I used to think made me valuable:

Financial independence

Progressive outlook-more than willing to pay for dinner/movies

Great relationship with my family and friends.

Open to learning about everything, really.

Giving people space—I’m an introvert so I understand.

I’m not a great cook, but for a guy I like, I’d be willing to cook anything. (This sort of goes into the willing to learn anything territory)

I like science, music, nutrition, fitness, and morbid shit. So it really depends on whether the guy is also into that stuff.

Don’t have any exes and I’ve never slept around.

None of this shit matters if you’re an ugly chick though. It’s life...we’re all dealt with certain hardships in life. I know gorgeous women whose mothers died when they were babies or hot women who are cheated on constantly. I’ll take my ugliness compared to those things.

I don't claim to speak for men who I don't know. My husband seems to say it's my intelligence, loyalty, and ability to match his effort. He doesn't mind that I am close to surpassing him in earning power, either. I will also shortly do a great deal of cooking and decorating for the household that he would never do himself. I do this because I have much higher standards than him. Does he care about my bed and bath decor? No, not really, because he refuses to participate. He's just glad I let him use my TV monitor for his computer. Does he care about eating well? Nah, this fool would eat Ramen. It's kinda sad to me, honestly, but it is what it is. We still bring value to each other's lives, so we're good. I would care for him on his sick bed, and he would do the same for me. If one of us got in a tough financial spot, the other would do their best to work on it together. We are a team.

I believed there are lots of good women out there. In my suburban bubble, there truly were as far as I could tell! If there were good women around him, he did not link with them before me. His previous experience was with a much, much lower quality of woman. Think narcissists, honestly. I think the loyalty/caring difference stands out the most to him because I actually care. I don't intentionally make every little thing difficult for him to avoid a minor inconvenience for myself. He could give a hoot about all the rest in comparison. Note: I don't have to completely lack boundaries and standards to be a caring wife.

Okay, let's not talk about guys I'm general, but about the ones interested in LTRs.

Emotional support. I'm there for people I love when they need me. I try to help, support and comfort them as much as I can.
Good communication skills. I prefer discussing things over arguing. I've got pretty good at communicating my needs and minding my partner's needs too.
Agreeableness. I don't tolerate drama and loud arguments, I like taking good care of people I love and I'm happy when I can make their day better. I don't let push me around though, everything has its own limits.

Long-term planning. I do it quite well and it does improve my and my partner's quality of life. Also helps with finance and health.
Sex. I like sex and I'm quite good at it. Support my partner's kinks as long as I'm not repulsed by them and interested in fulfilling my own.
I'm somewhat good-looking. Good face features, petite and slim.

All in all I'd say that my husband loves me because I make his life better. It includes thousands of things that are quite easy if you break them down one by one but that hard to mention all just because there are so many.

In the looks department: long hair, slim athletic body (daily workouts and a good diet), pretty face, nice ass and boobs, (hourglass figure 0,7WHR, double Ds). Nothing makes me valuable if I don’t make myself valuable. I believe what makes someone valuable is having the right headspace, is calm, rational, and kind to others, lives a healthy lifestyle and works hard. Just an all over zen person with substance and good intentions. I have none of these attributes, but it’s the kind of thing I’m working towards. If someone else doesn’t find these things valuable that doesn’t change my mind that I’ll be valuable once I achieve this.

My value comes from the support and affection I show my partner.

I am also helping him start his business! I have some capital. I am excited for him. I know it is not very feminist, but I think of us more as a team. Kind of like a ride or die chick. When I started dating my husband I was: pretty faced, BMI of 22, N count of 0, STEM degree and high paying job, had my own apartment and bought my own car, same friend group for years (mostly happy couples now), practically no debt (just the car since my beater had finally gone to heaven). I’m skilled in cooking since it’s the same thing as my job (chemist), dress/act feminine, and have a lot of traditionally feminine hobbies like knitting and embroidery. I’m also an exceptional musician. Both of my parents played in the state orchestra, so learning music was a requirement growing up. I have a good sense of humor; laugh at his jokes. We do a lot of activities together like hiking and archery, as well as some more nerdy things like tabletop/DnD games. Personality wise I’m easygoing and I’m always straightforward about what I want; I don’t play mind games with people. Husband now calls me his trophy wife.
