okay all politics aside, I'm going to be real for a second. I have a bjj blue belt and some judo experience, so I'm not like Jet Li karate master or whatever, but I know at least the basics of grip fighting. Guys in my class usually compliment my grip fighting but honestly this stuff is extremely simple, you could learn it in one day easy.

If he actually wanted to break her grip and get away, he would have. It's extremely easy to do, and I wonder if he actually doesn't know about how to break grips or if he wanted to be involved in the situation. This is what you do in that situation:

If possible, intercept the grab on its way to you. Grab the wrist and push it off against her body, so her arm is crossing over her own body. This way she can't face directly towards you. If you push her arm away from her body, that is her left arm towards her left side, you are basically letting her face completely towards you.
If that doesn't work, do this. take her primary gripping hand, the one exerting the most strength, and grab it with both of your hands. This is 2 on 1. Then, you very quickly and forcefully push up and away just enough to break her grip, but you are not trying to throw her across the room. The purpose is to swiftly and cleanly break the grip.
If she still has another hand attached, control the one you just removed by the wrist with one hand, and use your remaining hand to peel away her remaining grip by the fingers first. There are more complicated ways to do this, like pulling her wrist against your chest and turning so that you exert painful pressure on her wrist, but honestly that's hard and not that necessary. If you just want to get away, follow step #2: quickly detach her hand from your clothes.

This should be obvious, but just do it quickly and get away, don't stand around yelling about "this ghetto bitch".

Ok, now, the political operative in me says this man needed to sacrifice himself on the altar of liberty. I think he needed to defend himself. The gender of an attacker is not a relevant consideration in any self defense or combat course, except in cases where unique anatomy can be used to gain advantage, but never in consideration of; if force should be applied, nor how much force should be applied. Survival is gender neutral. Rights are gender neutral. Liberty is gender neutral.

Maybe we need a little bit more sacrifice. I know - like we have not given enough already - right ?

By that, I mean, maybe we need to start treating women more equally, then defending those actions vigorously in a court of law, and loudly in the court of public opinion. Make visible the blatant inequity. Stop taking plea bargains to force jury trials, and advertise them with the press. Hold press conferences on the courthouse steps. Get men's rights groups and money involved. Get some reputable, loud, and articulate public representatives to speak on behalf of men's rights.

Ask the public why its ok for a woman to assault a man, but its not ok for a man to defend himself. Ask them how they would feel if the roles were reversed. Ask them why, if its not equal to both - since we are all equal now. Ask them why the hypocrisy.
