How she treats you Vs how she treats others. Sure if her face lights up everyone she sees you and runs to give you a big hug, you could interpret that as interest but if she does that to everyone she knows, that's not a sign of interest.

I mean, the point of flirting is to be ambiguous. That said, for me the big one that separates "flirting for the lulz" in a way I do even with platonic friends, gay friends, etc., and actual interest is physical contact. I don't physically touch people I don't, well, want to touch.

Open body language, not leaning away from you (and/or not looking away), establishing some sort of physical touch, and “want to go out sometimes?” is usually what I do. 😅 …but I’m also told I have no game so .. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Physical contact is the most obvious one imo. If she’s gently touching your arm, leg that’s a clear IOI.

Other ones are leaning in towards you, getting closer to you, open body language as others have said.

It depends on how open the guy seems. I tend to be into quieter dudes so I’ll look his way a lot (yeah I’m creepy). I’ll ask about his day, make prolonged eye contact but sometimes I’ll look down immediately because I have social anxiety.

I’ll ask about his plans for the weekend, usually talk about music he might be into. I tend to be a lot more enthusiastic than normal. Lots of questions, throw a genuine compliment. Never works for me lol

I've still got that kindergarten shit going on where I bully people that I like. Not like in a mean way I'll just be teasing and usually they're able to laugh at themselves a bit too. If it does turn out they can't take a joke or don't like my sense of humor then we probably weren't very compatible anyways.

Like you mentioned, one girls platonic friendliness is another girls subtle communication of interest. So clear examples from one person may not be so clear to another's.

My show of romantic interest is very similar to platonic interest, which is why I had a problem with flirting. Generally if I like someone I just want to hang around them more and engage with them more. The clearest sign of interest I would show is if I met you on a dating website, that's really clear.

If I like someone, I would generally be subtle and hang around the guy for a while to see if I feel like he also wants to be around me and is happy to interact with me. If these interactions is encouraging enough, I may straight up ask him if he likes me. This doesn't happen too often because I'm easily scared off, which is why I find the most success on dating apps.

I’m a really extroverted and friendly person, so I’ve had my platonic expressions of friendliness misinterpreted by men here and there — but I’ve learned that guys are less likely to misinterpret my friendliness as flirting if I talk with them as though they were my brother. I act less “feminine”, I don’t show off my physical assets, I don’t bat my eyelashes or giggle or flip my hair. I’ll probably sit and talk more like a guy, super casual. But when I’m talking to a guy who I find attractive - someone I want to flirt with - I act distinctly more feminine and womanly, whether I am aware of this or not. Even my voice changes! At least for me, I think I unconsciously put on a bit of a show when I’m flirting, in an effort to emphasize my femininity and attractiveness. It’s a subtle thing that goes on, but when a woman is attracted to a man, she wants him to see her as feminine and desirable - not like a sister. Just pay careful attention to whether or not she displays subtle behaviors that draw attention to her attractiveness/femininity, like her voice, her tone and cadence, her body language, her posture. I know these are all so ambiguous and vary woman to woman, but it’s something I’ve noticed about myself and about other women, and I thought it might provide some insight.

Eye contact is obviously super important. When I’m attracted to a guy, I’ll hold eye contact for longer than is usual, and I’ll also at moments look away and blush. Holding eye contact with someone you’re attracted to can feel intense and thrilling, and it can get to be too much. Pay attention to her eye contact with you!

I don't even make eye contact on the street with men because they feel its an invitation to make comments.

If I text message or DM a guy and it isn't flirting, I make him very aware what the purpose of the message is (and it's not romantic or shooting the shit). I NEVER message men my friends are dating unless it is about the friend and I would be happy for the friend to read it.

I won't touch or hug a guy I am not interested in unless we have been friends for a decade OR he has a gf/wife and she is there OR it's a group goodbye or something and everyone else is doing it.

I would never ever invite a man to hang out alone with me if I was not interested in him.

This is more about me not sending the messages to the wrong men than it is about sending "i like you" messages to the right men.
