Lmao yes. I have a friend in the same field of work as me. He recently told me how he decided to end his relationship with his long distance girlfriend within a day. And this man “dates for marriage.” I was so shocked but I held it in to figure out more and, yup, already had his sights and been crushing on another girl 🤡. I feel so bad for his gf honestly because shes beautiful, crazy successful, and kind but honestly I think its a good thing he lost her. She can do way better.

I love a scrote acquaintance that’s an open book. One told me that he has a couple of women (pickmes) on stand by that he takes out for drinks every so often and leads them on with the idea of a making them into girlfriends. I recall him saying that one woman was “obsessed” with him and he would boast about it to his friends and call her a psycho. In actual fact, he would breadcrumb her and she would leap at any chance for a “Netflix and chill.” He would then tell his friends that she randomly showed up at his drunk. Such a scrote.

My problem is, I don’t want to be locked into dinner with somebody. I don’t want to do a coffee date either but the thought of having to spend potentially 90 minutes with some of the men I’ve met in the past is horrific. Is there another option on par with dinner?

The coffee/walking date trend is so weird to me. I get coffee with my friends. I go on walks with my friends. It's an activity that - you guessed it - is usually associated with friends. These things on their own possess zero romance, I don't want to feel like I'm going on an interview or relive my school trip days.

I've made a couple of exceptions to this but they were specific and still romantic in some capacity:

- I'm very active and walk/run a LOT. If a guy can't keep up with me and manage at least a few miles of walking on a nice day through a park or museum, he's not the one for me. Basically it's like, you wanna walk? Oh we're gonna WALK.

- I don't drink coffee but love bubble tea. A sweet guy I was seeing for a while always made it a point to make time for us to stop and get tea during the date. It wasn't the whole date, we usually did this after dinner or while strolling around the city before dinner.

I also have a LVM acquaintance who’s my little male open book. In his (kind of, but not really) defense, he does a habit of picking girls who have a serious flaw, like one enjoys stirring up drama, another who sleeps around with a lot of people in a short timeframe within the friend group, or, most recently, has a raging cocaine habit. He claims to not see this right away but I don’t know how you miss it.

He still validates everything on FDS and is really funny about it so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Point #1 is depressing, but true. Every woman entering the dating world needs to arm herself with this knowledge. Libfem "ideals" try to encourage us to go 50/50 or even offer to pay for him on the first date (!) when that's just letting these idiots get away with being absurdly low effort.

Men who don't want to drop a single dime on you and offer even basic gestures of romance are trash. Don't be brainwashed by libfem! No, that doesn't mean you never do anything nice for him, but for God's sake, he needs to earn that from you and prove he isn't just after one thing and plans to drop you when he gets it. Women are already taken advantage of enough as it is.

Just remember, there is NOTHING shameful, sexist, or morally wrong about wanting a man to pay for you and put thought and care into your dates. No man implicitly deserves your trust and loyalty, so let him prove himself.

I have a similar acquaintance.

The other day he was telling me allllll about how it's "normal" for a guy to jerk off to his friends IG posts. I said, "What if you don't post sexy pics? Like me, I only post my face for this very reason." And he was like, "I still have done it. I'm sure other guys have, too."

I'm disgusted and I keep him at arms length, but, like your friend, it's also been educational.

I have LVM friends as well, they are TRULY entertaining to say the least. I keep them around to know what to look out for. Word of advice : don’t get defensive when they expose/open themselves up to you, as this causes them to shut down and then you no longer have access to their tactics. You can always learn from FDS but it’s better to see it play out in person as it gives you a better visual. I just allow them to run their mouths while smiling 🙂, because they’re f-ing idiots 🤣. Don’t take what they say personal as well, they are low value after all and they do not validate you in anyway

I'm kinda surprised that a LVM was trying to tell that other girl the guy she was with was putting zero effort into her. That's really sad that she's so in denial about the situation that another LVM tried to even warn her.....I'm not entirely sure I agree with the FDS mindset that coffee/walk dates/anything that isn't a fancy restaurant date is automatically a bad thing or something that automatically makes the guy a LVM. In my mind, if I'm dating someone I want a date that's relaxed/chill with minimal pressure with an easy out if they make me uncomfortable in any way etc and a coffee/walk date is perfect for that for me. Especially if it's a first date with someone I don't know that well that I'm in the process of slowly getting to know. A lot of the FDS tips are generally really great for women to use but I noticed there are sometimes small little things that are debatable and just don't apply to some women and the men they're with. I feel like the FDS doesn't really take that into account it's kinda like a one size fits all kinda thing here. My mindset for relationships for myself is to start slow and then progress from there. A coffee date to me is like the equivalent to small talk people do in conversations then as I get more comfortable with them and feel as if they're worthy for me to invest in I'll slowly progress to a more deeper discussion/a more serious date with them.
