You wouldn't believe how many times I've come across profiles where the girl said she does not condone sexism, racism, or homophobia. Then you take a look at her name and it's something sexist like "Miss Andry."

So weird how many of these feminists are just straight up bullies looking to put people down. Tumblr has definitely led to a huge increase in this type of hate.

I know there's a big anti-feminist sentiment in this subreddit, but I liken something like this to someone saying 'don't bother msging if you're a feminist!'. It's a ridiculous stance to take, imho. Everyone has the right (and moral imperative, I'd add) to fight for their rights and to further their interests. Feminism does just that (flaws or no-flaws, whichever your view is). It's an attempt to keep yourself from having to be exposed to competing views about the world...it's an attempt at lowering the diversity of your experience in order to maintain the comfort of your own confirmation bias and willful ignorance, not to mention protecting your (fragile) ego.

Sure, you might have ideological disagreements, but that doesn't mean that you can't/won't get along, won't make a good couple, and aren't possibly meant for each other. Like i said: ridiculous.

There are tons of posters here who say they'll never touch someone who calls herself a feminist. Not a radical feminist, not someone who's actually against men's rights, not someone who's politically active in feminism--anyone who identifies with feminism. Which includes people who don't know anything more about gender politics than voting and abortion and that Patrick Stewart calls himself a feminist.

This really isn't any different, and it's highly hypocritical for so many here to get so huffy about it. People are often misinformed.

You know what I find completely ironic? How women like this could essentially write just about anything on their profile, and write the most bigoted, misandric or idiotic shit, and still find more success and tolerance, online than any other guy would. It's like this blatant privilege, or level of tolerance and adoration, that women are so quick to take for granted or that feminism are so quick to turn as a sign of oppression but, if any guy was to put a fraction of the bitter, hateful or sexist comments that women put on their profiles and get away with(shit like "all men are pigs/liars", "men/gays/minorities are gross!", "I hate this and that type of men!", etc) they would be publicly shamed, harassed and immediately blacklisted by the vast majority of women without anyone ever giving it a second though(even if it's just something they wrote being taken out of context or misinterpreted).

There are SOME good people on Mensrights, but also a lot of nagging butthurt individuals who complain because somebody made a joke on a Facebook meme, or they think the last musical they saw (a fiction that took place a century ago) is "male bashing" and worth bitching about.

In a nutshell: everything a professionnally offended loud mouth feminist is, applied to the opposite sex.

It must be exhausting to witness this in real life, she probably just has a low tolerance for headaches!!

If she didn't put that in and then you two started talking, it'd eventually come up and could turn into an argument. At least now you know to avoid her, and she saves both of you grief. That's pretty closed-minded of her. I don't see why people think that their or other people's ideals are set in stone. When I met my girlfriend, she was very much so a feminist and a liberal. Four years later, were both still extremely happy with each other. I took the approach of believing I could persuade her onto my side and she's taken a lot of my ideologies to heart, as well as I have taken some of her ideologies to heart. Now she's a devout egalitarian who shares with my Libertarian philosophies.
