If all men by miracle improve 200% overnight, women will still go for a few of them that are the best. So there will always be a scarcity of men as long as people can fuck multiple people and monogamy is not enforced. No wonder why almost every civilization ended up with some form of monogamy and maybe heavily regulated polygamy.

Assuming conservatively that women find only half men desirable, then obviously at least half women will have to (1) share those men or (2) settle for nothing (3) or settle for less.

The problem with the first is that most women hate to share men (or at least being a side chick, or sharing the husband's resources) and the problem with the second is that most women still want a relationship and children and have a time limit for that. In fact, studies say that most older women without children regret not having them. Even if women settle for less, there will always be resentment there. Comparison, cheating, etc. But again, this is not women's fault either... it is human nature.

Most women who want a family also want a loving husband, but obviously there are not enough men worthy of them, so many of them will have to drop that dream. That is also ignoring the many "happy families" that will be broken if those high value men have better younger options to choose.

So yes, we can say that women can be happy alone to a point and so can men with porn, but it does not erase the fact most people would rather be in an exclusive relationship and will NEVER get something even close to it.

We love to deny reality... I mean, how can reality be so unfair and evil? How can we accept that? But at some point we will have to accept it, if not us, our descendants.

There are some points to add:

  1. I don't see monogamy ever being enforced again. It would violate all the "western values" and "freedom" we were indoctrinated for years. People would rather go extinct than reject those suicidal liberal values.
  2. Most people have been fed the idea that there is someone for everyone, since Disney films to modern industry, series, etc. Think how fucked up this is that a good proportion of people will never find love or a lifelong relationship.
  3. Tech cannot fix that. Robot wives/husbands will always be a consolation prize to the real thing. Even if they were genuinely more satisfying than the real thing, the implicit idea is that "you were not able to get the real thing, so get this".
