My grandmother died a few years after my grandfather, but she had one of her Sons holding her hand and grandkids and friends around as she passed. She wasn’t “alone”.

Women have relationships - friends lol - outside of their spouses at a far greater frequency than men. So yeah even though women outlive men, they're more likely to have a support system that satisfies them emotionally, so they die single but not alone for the most part.

Yeah, every widow I know is thriving; she found a new beau (or several) and is spending her twilight years wining and dining, OR she's finally done with caretaking and is enjoying her independence with crafts, animals, volunteering, gardening, and her coven (i.e. elderly female friends and relatives).

Children may or may not factor in these outcomes, but overwhelmingly these women express relief to finally have a life of their own (even if they had a happy and loving marriage).

We all die alone (literally), but men's fearmongering is simply a projection of their future.

Regardless, I don't understand this focus on how someone dies. What matters more is how they lived for most of their life. I would rather die alone and in pain, if I could live most of my life comfortable, happy, and surrounded by loved ones.

I’ve had a lot of experience with caregiving & death.

My mother was thrilled to have autonomy & be able to travel once my father died. He was an oppressive force in her life, she was finally free. She got her 1st passport & we took her to Europe. She even went on a couple of dates with older widowed guys for kicks. She had plenty of offers even in her 70’s.

My ex MIL’s widowhood years weren’t as glorious because she really missed & grieved the loss of my FIL who was a good, caring husband - but she wasn’t miserable or lonely. She had her church friends & family. She died peacefully & painlessly in her own home a couple years after her husband. Her son and my daughter were asleep in the bed next to her as I monitored her slowing breaths and intermittently ironed a shirt for my husband to wear to her imminent funeral. She wasn’t alone but she hadn’t really been with us for a few days at that point. Hospice nurses told us exactly what to expect…the work of the dying is truly done alone.

The older widowed men of that generation in my family did not fare as well. They were universally lost & miserable without their wives.

A-lot of Men use this “dying alone” as a shaming tactic because many men will either die alone (due to their lack of social circles), kill themselves (due to the increasing mental health crisis) or die alongside a woman who doesn’t respect them or love them.

A lot of men just want women to feel the pain they also feel. A woman “dying alone” most likely means there’s also a man out there dying alone.

Maybe their kids will be around them but having kids don’t require getting or staying married.

Being in a long-term, good relationship with the other parent (typically a man) will help a lot in their upbringing.

There are entire cultures, countries and even continents where the exact opposite is the norm. Both women and men, are surrounded by entire families. Entire communities. As they lay on their deathbeds.

It’s a sad indictment on ‘ modern’ culture. That this viewpoint of loneliness is not only common, but even worse, meekly accepted.

Life is a blessing. A deathbed surrounded by loved ones, who miss and mourn a person, is testament to this. Don’t meekly accept loneliness. In life or death. Rage against it.

Most women who marry will die surrounded by children and grandchildren. By "you will die alone" we mean they won't even have that, and we mostly say it to share the pain that we won't have it either and will probably die in a gutter somewhere.

I recently saw a video where a woman discover some statistics about unclaimed bodies in the morgue. I think this was about a year ago, but at the time, of the 16,000 bodies across the US that were unclaimed 13,000 were men.

Those are staggering statistics of lonely bodies of men that are laying in the morgue with not a child or a wife or even a podcast bro buddy to come pick him up and bury him.

It really is just fear mongering. From the body count bullshit, to the you’re old / hit the wall at 30 bullshit, to the you’re going to die alone bullshit. It’s all projection. Men are terrified of dying alone. Petrified.

i dont care. they had a good life, dating life was easy, they had a marriage, kids, bigger social circles. many men cant get a girlfriend, more women than men have children, many men are without children, women have more friends than men. so women on average can look back at a life that was more fulfilling than mens life. so even if they die alone, they can remember their good times and keep living, even if they are 80 and noone cares about them anymore. well i mean thats the average dating life of the average 20s year old man. so why should i care. i mean who cares about the 60% of young men in their 20s who are alone and not dating? noone.

In my fam we have a lot of very old people (85+) years old. A common sentiment among the men is that they joke that their wives hate them. I think one of the reasons why men die earlier than women is basically because the women resent them a lot. This myth of undying love is just that, a myth.

It’s not about the death process itself, because the last years of your life are meaningless. It’s rather the process of aging, becoming cougar and finally realizing and admitting to yourself after years of denial, that you will not be able to date the guy who wanted you in your 20’s anymore. It’s the process of becoming as toxic as an incel and hating younger guys for not committing or people in general for noticing that you are 40 when you were lying to yourself and thinking that you look as attractive as in your 20’s.

It’s the process of realizing that even if it’s physically possible even though rare, nobody wants to have children with you. So you will live alone because also your friends who are married will probably dump you. And you will also die alone instead of being surrounded by your sons and daughters and nephews.

It’s the process of natural selection that does its course and discards the feminists.

Average stats for average losers. Just because women on the prowl take care of themselves so they give their physical best to strangers seeking free hookers is not causation. The longest-lived people and the most content in old age are those who had life partners AND looked after themselves.

People that let themselves go and basically give their worse to their partner while being spiteful due to FOMO and trend be they any gender are living in a hell.

Worse still if time really is the illusion of 3 dimensional beings and no energy is destroyed, they will exist endlessly in a state that is the summation of then part of their existence they could make change, never-ending hollow empty meaningless fakery alone with your thoughts in an eternity of darkness .. almost makes me wish religion was real lol
