Not really about seduction technique, but I thought it was interesting to see how things have changed. Online dating is up, and so is meeting at a bar.

Now you're probably thinking that of course online dating is up, it's only been around for a little while so it has nowhere but up to go, and each generation is more tech savvy than the last, so we're going to be more inclined to use online dating.

Where it gets interesting is that online dating is most popular with the middle age crowd, and least popular with people in their teens or 20s. People who are still young have school as a huge social network, so they don't turn to online dating as fast.

But if you notice, college is losing ground even as more people (especially women) go to college. Probably because people are waiting longer to get married (and to get on the path towards marriage).

If you're waiting until later, you start to have fewer natural connections. Your world get smaller as you leave school, get settled into a job, and slowly lose contact with your childhood friends. Thus the two things on the rise are both ways of meeting strangers to whom you have no social network connection.

What's all this mean? Hell if I know, but I just thought this sub would find it interesting.

It bothers me that the diamond is "met through friends" but the solid line is just labeled as "family". I'm assuming it's meant to be taken as "met through family", not that they're dating family. But anyway, great chart and whatnot, very interesting.

I'm straight and all, but as a psych major I find the same-sex chart to be completely fascinating. Was not what I was expecting at all, while the hetero couple chart was fairly predictable in terms of general expectancies.
