Men have a history of creating and abandoning their children. If they are able to have children with no accountability or consequences they will keep making them and keep creating broken homes. Not only that but there are mothers who pay it too.

No one cares about the circumstances of who wanted it and who did it. If the child exists, there are two parents who are responsible. Child support actually cost less than what it would be to have full custody. They are actually getting away easy.

Child support exists to reduce child poverty. Letting the child live in poverty is cruel. One income is not enough in this economy.

Abortion and childbirth is the mother’s choice because this process occurs in her body. Once the baby actually exists, it is more important than the parents. The noncustodial parent had to pay their share. I would prefer the government to foot the bill, but until then this is the option we have.

Why is it that in these financial abortion questions are always framed as revolving around a man and a woman? Why is the child never even considered?

Abortion only gives those with uteruses the ability to control whether or not to continue a pregnancy. It has not taken away a right men had before.

In fact I would argue that men benefit from abortion, I think it likely that if a pregnancy is unwanted by a woman that there is a high likelihood the father also does not want it it.

When a group of people receive a right to healthcare, that does not mean another group needs to receive a financial benefit in order to make it fair. It's about creating an equality of opportunity.

It's big 2024, a woman no longer requires a man to even live a decent life, so essentially all child support is really, is an opportunity for a scorned woman to punish a man for her own choices in life.

You could also say that men, by not paying child support, punish the child (who is the only one blameless) for his choices in life (having unprotected sex).

I don't want to pay for men who can't take responsibility for their mistakes. Men can pay themselves. It doesn't need to come out of my tax dollars to feed, clothe, house, and send their kid to daycare.

The economy is shit. Two income homes are drowning. Single parents are doing the worst. The least men can do is make sure their mistake has basic life necessities. No one is forcing them to be a parent, but they created another life. That's on them. That's their burden, not mine.

“Financial abortion” is not the same thing as “biological abortion”. In a biological abortion, the kid is a fetus, and is not born nor a conscious being. In financial abortion, the kid is born already, and has biological needs that must be met and require money to fulfill. Men constantly tell women that our financial standards are too high, and most men do not make enough to support a family. The average woman also doesn’t make enough to support a family. The average child support payment is less than $500 a month, so the money is just a little bit to help make ends meet.

BUT ITS NOT FAIR THAT WOMEN CAN GET BIOLOGICAL ABORTIONS AND MEN CANT!!!!

Biology isn’t fair. Men have the privileges of still being able to produce a child at age 90, and the privilege of “aging like wine” so that their SMV doesn’t plummet at 25 or 30 or 35. Men also are bigger and stronger and can eat more without getting fat. Men also don’t get periods and can discretely pee in a bush if they have a peepee emergency. Women can’t. And pregnancy can kill us, destroy our health, or just make us fat and unattractive.

There is no way to “even the playing field” when it comes to biological abortion. Even if the man wants to keep the baby and the woman doesn’t, there is no way to legislate this and make things “fair”. Also, a woman may not want to keep her baby when it’s a 6 week old fetus, but if her boyfriend makes her keep it to term in your theoretical story, she may be attached to the actual baby and want it to be part of her life. MANY women who would get an abortion early on in the pregnancy would still love and take care of the baby once it is born.

Back to incentivizing single motherhood

Men would not have to worry about:

Paying child support

Taking care of a kid they don’t want

Financial abortion vs biological abortion fairness

“Her body her choice” equity

The community would cover the expenses and needs and he can go his merry way with “hoes”

It's not equal. There's no system, even hypothetical, where reproduction is equal between men and women. It's one of, if not the only situation where reversing the sexes doesn't work, so it's pointless to try.

Seeing as equality is impossible, we try to go with the option that doesn't leave children starving, or my taxes going to pay for them if avoidable.

Child support is not designed to be fair to the father or the mother, it's designed to be fair to the child. The child bears no responsibility for being here in the first place and needs to be provided for.

The state doesn't want to take the added burden upon itself / taxpayers and thus incentivize having kids like this, so the parent who doesn't have custody has to pay. Note that the law is gender-neutral on that subject, but abortion and other issues make it so the woman is rarely the one paying it.

So if the mom can’t afford the kid’s needs who should pay? The taxpayer rather than the father? Do you really want to help support Chad and Tyrone’s kids with your tax dollars or should we as a society decide to let those kids starve or turn to crime? This isn’t shoulda coulda woulda land so poor people will still have kids because mY ReLiGiOn or whatever other reason so these tough decisions have to be made. So how do you purposely we as a society handle poor kids?

Men always want to talk about getting rid of child support but never offer any solutions for the care of the kid.

I think it’s because once a child is in the mix both the parents wants and needs go out the window. The government has to mediate for both parents lack of responsibility. They’re looking to prioritize what’s best for the child.

I think a lot of single mother situations stem from two situations.

A woman is dating a loser and everyone tells her he's a loser, and she decides to get pregnant which she believes will make him step up only to find that, just like everyone told her, he bails.
A woman is dating a guy who won't commit to her, she is just so into him but so are other women, she gets pregnant to force his hand but the man accepts the kid but continues to reject the mother, the mother then does everything she can to keep the man out of the child's life while telling everyone he's a dead beat.

I mean as you get older you'll realize how many couples are together simply because the woman got pregnant. It's shocking.

Child support makes more sense to me than abortion. You create a kid, you pay for it.

Now the amount of “child” support and the fact that a lot of women are automatically given primary custody would be more the issue. But regardless of how you brought a child into the world, wanted or not. It’s here and you need to pay for it. Not everyone else.

There should be more regulations over how that money is spent. Or maybe a card that can only be used for child support approved items. Rather than giving a woman money for “my kid” (her nails)

Yes women can pay for their child. But so can men. It’s both your kid. If you wanted a woman that made more money, you should have gotten one.

But if women can kill a kid they don’t want, men should be able to at least abandon one they never wanted and were forced to have. But men don’t get that choice. And women don’t give a shit.
