They all act the same. Leave to chase dreams hit the reality wall and then play the victim to protect their huge ego. Then ask to come back to be rejected (what do they think?). Ending only good enough to be eft and dumped while claiming they regret not doing it sooner. which is an absolute lie. They end up bitter drinking lots of wine.

I've seen it times and times again.

Still what they ignore is that during the same time we do suffer (a lot), then improve and finally find better (even we weren't initilally seeking for). Too bad for them, this is called karma.

Depending on how much she cashed out for. She's realizing that she let go of her well-trained workhorse for cheap.

I wish I could get something like this, someday. But, the ex would NEVER admit to doing anything wrong or having any regrets. Just not how she operates.

We went to marriage counseling years ago, when the guy said one thing critical of her in the second session, she told me on our way to the car that, “We are never going back to this quack ever again!”

It was fine when everyone was shitting in me, but, oh no, we aren’t allowed to point out her faults at any time.

Exactly! Your ex basically thought the grass was greener and found out it wasn’t. Or she is trying to play the victim card so people don’t hate her. Women file for divorce most often and are responsible for the destruction of the family.

That’s so typical, I’m dealing with something similar right now.

She moved out because she wasn’t happy. I begged her to stay and work things out together. I told her that no matter what happens, we should stick together and support each other. I admitted what I was doing wrong and how I planned to change. But she didn’t say a single thing about what she wanted to change—she just listened to my plans. Then she kept threatening to leave.

I told her straight up, if she moved out and kept using that threat, it would be over. I wasn’t going to beg her to fix things if she wasn’t willing to put in any effort or care about how much I was hurting. I even said if she left, I’d cut all contact. I didn’t want to hear from her or see her ever again.

And guess what? She moved out anyway and didn’t care at all. I felt like crap for months. Now, when I’m finally getting better, building a new routine, and starting to enjoy life, she’s messaging me, acting all nice and concerned. She’s saying stuff like, “If you need anything, just reach out,” or, “Let’s stay friends,” and that I was the most important person in her life and she always wishes the best for me.

Do you see the manipulation here? Think about it. I’m supposedly the most important person in her life, yet she had no problem packing up and leaving because she was unhappy or bored. Now that I’ve kept my word and cut her off, suddenly she wants to be the caring, nice person? It’s disgusting. Let someone down once, then come back when they’re recovering just to mess with them again? I bet the next step will be some story about how she’s having health issues or problems with her family. So typical.

Go have a good time with great food and great women if possible. Post it online and remember to be grateful to your ex since she initiate the divorce. If possible, remember to show your gratitude to the AP too if you know his name.

It seems like this situation happens quite often with ex-partners. First, they leave a great partner, meet new people, and want to take things to the next level, only to be rejected or ghosted. Then they realise that these new, exciting individuals have used and discarded them. They start to notice that they're no longer being asked out and want their dependable partner back, only to find out that their ex has moved on and found someone new. It's ironic how often this happens, and it shows that exes may be selfish and take advice from friends who may not have the best relationship experiences. It's a reminder that real life isn't always like the love stories we hear or read about.

If you or your friend don't know how she really feels how could we? Actions speak louder than words usually. My guess is she truly feels some uncertainty on whether what she did was the right thing to do with everyone involved and their respective outcomes. When she talks to your friend she probably is able to look at more than just her own little selfish desires and world, certainly much more so than in the company of her likely man-hating, supportive-to-a-fault coworker divorce-cake-maker Karen fest. When she considers everyone impacted, she probably doesn't like what she's done. Seeing your friend forces her to look at it like that. Who knows. Anyway glad you know it was for the best.

It doesn’t matter. My ex-wife has admitted to me that she regrets leaving, so the regret is clear. In divorce, there are no victors or victims—it’s the complete death of a family. We should mourn and grieve that loss, but we cannot live with corpses.

Same here. My exwife's life royally sucks now. She's flat broke. Lives with her parents. No savings. Loads of bad debt. Drives a shitty car because she has totaled every car she's ever driven.

One of her old friends saw her at the store the other day, asked her how she was doing. The friend relayed to me that she's sad about the life she had with me. As I took care of everything. But she wanted more and more until I reached my breaking point with her.

Now there's Wife Version 2.0 at my house, and she's so much nicer than my exwife.

My ex wife made the rounds of all of our friends and my family, telling them she still loved me. She didn’t want to be known as the one who had destroyed the marriage and broken up the family. Thankfully, after some tough times, my family now knows the truth, but the friends are all lost. I don’t think she regrets what she did, but she doesn’t want people to know she did it. She’s just a liar.

It could be for the reason you stated. It could also be that the grass was not greener when she got to the other side. I’ve read a lot of stories about middle-aged women who initiate divorce thinking that it’s going to be wonderful. But once they get out there on their own it turns out to be not what was expected. Although I assume that feeling could be true for both men and women.

Could be either of those things. If it is regret she could be saying that stuff so it would get back to you and see if she could get some attention from you. A similar thing happened to me where two different people told me ex wasn't doing well and regretting filing for divorce. I haven't spoke to her in 6 months and she's been stalling the divorce process so I just asked her if she was ready to talk about things/divorce yet. No response. Probably just seeing if I was still interested because she knew it would get back to me. Just telling you a precautionary tale. Probably shouldn't have messaged at all.
