First of all, empathy is the wrong word. Guys here are demanding sympathy. Sympathy is feelings of pity and sorrow for someone else's misfortune. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. You can understand somebody and still not feel pity for them.

Alot of guys made it very clear that they believe men are above reproach.

Being an asshole - Terrible women exist, so why shouldnt he be allowed to be a terrible person to women who did absolutely nothing wrong to him?

Mental health - He’s depressed, so he’s allowed to wallow in self-pity, never work on his mental health, make his mental illness everyone else’s problem. How dare you mention that he’s 30 while younger people, even teenagers with bigger problems, address their mental issues when he barely does? AVE YOU NO EMPATHY?!

Laziness - Well, its society’s fault that he’s lazy.

Men being 30+ years old barely leaves his house to the point he cant navigate his way around the city he lives in. -  Women are so harsh to not want a guy like this! What if he’s literally been too busy to go outside for 30+ years? Other guys of various social classes being able to do so is irrelevant!

For all the complaints about radical feminism on the sub, this type of mindset is no better than the blue haired bitches who think women rarely can ever be called out for anything.

When can men ever be held responsible for themselves?

Now going back to empathy, I knew a boy since 15 that has been trying to get therapy and mental evaluations. He recognizes something’s wrong with him, even when his family pretends there’s not, made him an ipad kid, and didnt really help him develop a social life. He also doesn’t believe in coddling people who won’t fix their problems. He and I understand that mental illness is hard, but if you’re still not making the effort to fix yourself within a decade and you’re still horribly toxic to the people around you, how long should people coddle you?
