I've seen a lot of articles and studies showing that women get turned off when they find that a man uses an Android phone. On the flip side, using an iPhone makes you more attractive to the opposite sex.

And it's not just women saying this. Even men are recommending that other men use iPhones in order to be more successful with women.

From a purely logical perspective, it doesn't make sense why this is the case. Phones have no impact on your physical attributes (for example Henry Cavill, one of the most attractive men in the world, uses a Google Pixel). Furthermore, Android flagships are often more expensive than iPhones. So it isn't an indicator of status either, because someone who can afford a $3,000 Galaxy Z Fold will definitely be wealthier and higher status than someone with the base iPhone model. So why does using an Android phone affect perceived attractiveness so much, when in reality it shouldn't matter? What is it about iPhone users that makes them so much more attractive? If you saw someone with supermodel-tier looks but they took out an Android phone, would you still get turned off and find them less attractive? How about if an ugly person took out an iPhone? Would they get bumped up by a few points?
