Studies back this up: people who grow up treated well usually turn out healthier and less bitter, and being privileged doesn’t make you mean. Being attractive gets you nicer treatment from others, which encourages kindness. Add in money or status, and there’s even less reason to be jerks. Research shows attractive men and women are often more generous and socially aware because positive treatment encourages empathy.

This is the notion that “its what’s on the inside that counts” which isn’t wrong, however most of the people that are nice outside ie good-looking tend to better at reading social ques and learn charm easier which makes people respond better to them

Sometimes attractive people aren’t even doing something technically bad or mean but it gets perceived that way because people don’t like being rejected.

I’ve seen many a cases where an attractive person politely rejecting someone is taken as some sort of personal assault. Like he’s not being an asshole he’s just not that into you. He’s not a jerk just because he didn’t ask you out for a second date and she’s not a bitch just because she wouldn’t give you her phone number

And you Post is full of bias, nobody talks about that Chad treats woman bad in some sadistic or cartoonish way, its all about abundance. If you would have 3 Pants for life you probably will treat them very well, fix them if they are broken and care for them. If you would get a Truckload of pants every other year you probably would even wash them, just wear them and if they get dirty you throw them away

Something similar would work for "Chad" why should he especially care for a random "chick" he banged a couple of times, there where a dozen of better and more interesting chicks he banged

You're right. Some can be assholes because they are just huge dicks and get away with anything because their looks.

But most attractive people also come from good stable families, educated, and understand their situation. They tend to be really kind because, well... The world is kind to them.

If anything it's really annoying. You get the hot chicks saying, "Girls the trick is to just be nice! The world is amazing!"

Yeah, in my experience the better someone's life is, the nicer they usually are. Most people that are treated well their entire lives tend to reflect the positive interactions they had back at you. They do tend to just leave if they think you're treating them badly and feel the need to justify it.

However, the nicest people I met that went super above and beyond are people that dealt with hardships. I think they are more considerate and thoughtful. While people with easy lives tend to just be nice by default simply because that's always been how human interactions are with them, people that went through hardships can be more empathetic and see and address your problems more directly.

I feel like people that go through hardships tend to either turn bitter / spiteful or turn into absolute gems. Although I did notice that some of my friends that went through hardships that I consider gems have once or twice been set off by odf things I barely noticed.

It’s not that attractive correlates with “bad”. Attractive and “good” correlates more with “taken”. Women desire men who are both attractive and good but often filter for attractiveness first and then search for good. So, it’s entirely possible for women set the initial filter too high such that any man who is both attractive and good has other better options, the maximum balance of attractive and good was already filtered out, so all she encounters is bad men or men that aren’t into her.

I can see this argument. Attractive people get so much positive feedback just for existing that they might have more confidence, be less bitter, etc.

But you also have to ask how much of this is the halo effect on steroids. I know I've glanced at an attractive woman ("attractive to me") and thought "she looks really nice" w/o knowing anything about her personality. And, my intuition often is correct; she does turn out to be nice. However, what my intuition is ignoring is the 100 other people I see every day who are just as nice but not as attractive. 1/2 assed conclusion: attractive people are really nice.

I've noticed myself that people who are outsiders can be bitter; I still remember the story of a close friend of mine who was like that. Meanwhile, now I associate with attractive and educated people like me, and life is much better.

But at the same time, I also can't agree with this, because power, even in the smallest things, often corrupts people. This even includes the so-called "janitor syndrome"—examples of how even a small amount of power turns someone into an asshole. What would happen if someone with real power became like that? It's terrifying.

So the point isn't that the "Chads" are always toxic jerks and insult everyone, but that they can do it with impunity and even profit from it (like the halo effect).

This theory is nonsense. Being good-looking or privileged doesn’t make someone cruel, research shows the opposite. People who grow up with advantages usually turn out better adjusted, not bitter. Attractive and successful people get positive treatment from others, have fewer reasons to be angry at the world, and are often kinder than average. There’s zero evidence for your claim, and plenty showing the reverse
