Argentina's situation is very clear. They need international investment to bring in money, and stricter border control so that in the hypothetical where they fix their shit and turn their natural resources into profit, they don't fill up with unsupportable masses of immigrants.

But no one wants to gamble on investing in Argentina because of shit like this. They switch up every few years to a socialist regime like in the 2000s that tries to nationalize everything, and in the process puts workers out of jobs that were given by these "demonic multinational corporations". They drive up the debt to titanic proportions that realistically Argentina can never pay back, and then public unrest grows. I remember in Argentina you used to have to take your money out of the bank in like a one hour window when they were open, because banks and major stores opened for like 1-2 hrs a day, because no one had money to spend.

So then they establish some form of a progressive government, things look up, but transitioning to a hybrid capitalist / socialist society gets interrupted by a bunch of morons who forgot how shitty socialism was, and it's back to some "marxism-lite" type shit. Meaning foreign investors and wealthy Argentinians are thinking "FUCK NO, move my money offshore, invest in literally any other country."

Meaning Argentina, who relied upon the commodities boom of 5-10 years ago, has massively decreased exports. Basically, their flip flopping between socialism, hybrid govt, back to socialism, back to hybrid, etc, just leaves them with a massive pile of untapped resources and commodities that could get developed and usher them into a new age of prosperity.

Luckily for Argentina they are still relatively successful compared to some shit-holes in Central / South America, and they do have reasonably low poverty / starvation / illiteracy. But they fail to recognize where that success came from - it came from the tiny bits of capitalism that they permitted to their policies during their commodities golden age.

Socialism's popularity in Argentina is already enough of a cancer to almost make the country irrevocably fucked. But Socialism married to feminism as we are so accustomed to in US / EU is far more than they can deal with; it's likely a terminal cancer.

Move out. Run.

Fuck its finally happening. I thought it'd take longer. I moved out of Argentina over 12 years ago. Having all my money stolen by the goverment made me say "fuck it" I took a plain and never looked back.
