If anything, studies show men are faring worse than women these days, if suicide rates suggest anything. Probably due to the role they are told they're supposed to fill (being the male provider) doesn't really exist as broadly as it used to, so the weaker men who can't adapt just give up.

You can't tell by looking at someone whether they're happy. In fact, the more exuberant they look the greater the likelihood they're on something or trying too hard to cover up issues.

With that said, people are getting married less and less in the modern world. That fact alone means an unhealthy society for both men and women. Why? Because humans are social creatures, we are wired to live together and have intimate relationships and experiences shared with love ones. Isolation is not normal for human beings. I'd argue that single women over 30, whether or not they have a child, are not happy - hence the non-stop articles demanding to know "Where are all the good men", and article after article shaming men in their 30s for acting like man children and not 'manning up'.

It young women: teens and 20s are in fact living it up. College and businesses have been forced via affirmative action to even and go beyond the gender balance. Its why colleges and universities are approaching 60% women. And lots of new grad jobs in Fortune 500 companies have women only positions. Women have every opportunity given to them right now just for being a woman and the men are very aware. If you're a man - why even play an unfair game? Plus women control birth and casual sex thanks to the pill/abortion and have massive favoritism regarding marriage/divorce laws - they have almost zero to lose. It is great to be a woman right now, the deck is stacked in their favor.

I don't know how many women are actually "miserable," but basing your observation on the way people look is pretty strange. People are fantastic at faking that they're happy or fine.

Be that as it may, I feel more sympathy for women than anything. Advertisers and Leftist propagandists sold them the idea that they could have it all in life, but the reality is that no one can have everything. It's created drastically unreal expectations and a whole lot of women are going to learn that the hard way, which will most likely lead to a whole lot more unhappiness when that reality comes crashing in.

It's amusing how many swallowed the narrative that they can do what they want and no one can or should judge them for it. As though men aren't judged constantly for their choices, actions, or lack thereof.

Of course women love today's society, it's basically "do what you want and fuck anyone that judges you!" Which is fair, people should do what they feel is right for their lives. The problem is that people judge either way - most just don't have the decency to do it to your face.

Had that conversation with a female friend who was lamenting that her potential partners don't take her seriously or ghost her when they find out she has had over 60 partners. Only an inexperienced man is going to commit to that. No man wants to spend 40+ hours at their first job to go home to their second job of keeping their woman happy and satisfied so she doesn't fuck "my best guy friend that is totally like a brother to me!"

As for men being packed into depression forums, that's a bit of a reach. I would more attribute it to the fact that men really don't do the emotional support thing with one another in a lot of ways. It's better than it used to be, but few men want to share their vulnerabilities or fears with other people so they can't be used against them.

There's plenty of lost and hopeless women, they're just better at faking happiness or actually have meaningful support from their girlfriends. You can look at the single mothers trying to find a provider on Tinder or women who think that once they hit 30 they can just pick out their ideal man like an accessory for their outfit. Spend some time on /r/datingoverthirty and /r/whereareallthegoodmen and you can see it clearly.

I love women and I'm glad there is a lot of issues getting aired out for them that needed to be, but their expectations for happiness and external validation are through the fucking roof. The return on investment isn't worth the effort anymore.

I don't agree with much traditionalism overall. It was pretty much a shitshow. But the hedonistic treadmill of seeking external validation constantly isn't better. That's just consumerism.

I'm inclined to agree. Women today have it better than they've ever had, and that's saying something. At the same time though, the gap between their expectations and reality has never been wider - hell, it's less of a gap and more of a full blown fucking canyon at this point - hence why more women self-report being unhappy now than they did back then.

I'm a 27 year old woman. I have 2 degrees, and a "non-STEM" career. I have ALWAYS wanted to be barefoot in the kitchen raising kids. That is the ideal, in fact, when I dated (I'm married now), that was one of the things I would make sure we discussed. I want to be a SAHM. In fact, I am on my way to doing that now. Based on my career, we have discussed when it'd make the most sense for me to go on mat-leave, and my husband and I will start "trying" in a few months. If I could have skipped the education and the career and gone straight into being a SAHM, I would have. However, today's society "expects" women to go to school and have a career as well too. So I have. And I do enjoy it. But it is not the ideal. I remember watching Pleasantville as a child and wishing I could grow up to that. So yes, I do think a LOT of women are happy. But I also think a LOT of men are happy. But not all of them, and it's definitely not possible to say "the majority" just by simple observation as someone's "level" of happiness cannot be determined based on simple observation and an anecdotal assessment.

Women are miserable, and the main reason they are miserable is because they can't get any of those hot guys they fuck to stick around longer than a few months. They're miserable because they won't compromise. They're unhappy because they're not attractive, feminine, kind, or nice enough to get an attractive, powerful man. And they know it.

Women are miserable because they think working, acting, talking, drinking, drugging, partying, and fucking like they think men do would make them happy, and it doesn't. I'd say you're pretty much correct (surely, if women as a whole wanted traditionalism, there'd be a movement for it? Feminism for one has proven that women are willing to organize and make ruckus for a cause they support), but I want to address some of the rebuttals I'm seeing on here.

I think a lot of men (especially the kind that are drawn to TRP) don't understand that sometimes, when you're upset, talking about it makes you feel better. I don't mean this as a slight to the TRP guys per se--more an expression of sympathy. Some of these guys have been unhappy for YEARS and bottling it up and letting it fester before they find an internet sub to go completely nuts on. So obviously they'll struggle with the idea of periodically spending fifteen minutes grousing about something, and finding it cheers you right up, or going on a bad date, writing an angry little blog post about dating, and then feeling jolly enough to get back on Bumble. It doesn't seem like solving a problem to them, but sometimes the "problem" is that you're in a bad mood for whatever reason, the "solution" is to complain for a few minutes, and then it's done--like how the "solution" to being hungry is to eat something.

Again, we haven't been tracking the stuff for very long--only since the 1970s, and if you don't see how many relevant things that have nothing to do with feminism/traditionalism have been going on in that time period (economic shifts are the big one, but I think the rise of mass media is seriously under-examined), you're being myopic.

Of course you will find happy women in college; they have every advantage. There is no more privileged group on the planet than young, pretty Western women who can afford to go to college. Their happiness is facilitated by everyone around them. They can ride the CC, become college lesbians for a while, or whatever they want to do without judgement. Why wouldn't they be happy? The misery comes later, when they lose their youth and the world starts treating them like it treats men. They are unprepared for what men experience their entire lives.

You're right about everything but traditionalism being good for men. Relevant reading (Tl;Dr at bottom):

This advice only serves to offer a vague, useless solution that has already been tried and tested by history and society has since evolved from this kind of tradition - in the best case scenario. In the worst case scenario, it is just about moralising and railing against our decisions to pursue voluntary and consenting relationships: whether these are short or long-term forms of intimacy is irrelevant. Of course, I am referring to forced or pressured monogamy, not individual people's decisions to commit to someone and stay in an exclusive, loving relationship. The "advice" is employed by traditionalists. I tackled this issue quite thoroughly in a post I made where I emphasised that

"Forced" monogamy refers to a system where the State mandates that it is illegal to sleep with someone out of wedlock. An extreme version of this is where it is the law that families and communities have priority say in who their daughters (and sometimes, their sons) get to marry. In some very harsh religious societies, people can be stoned to death for adultery and subjected to disfigurement by acid or burn attacks for merely sleeping with someone out of wedlock.
"Pressured" monogamy refers to a system under the illusion of voluntary relationships where the State has no particular role in enforcing exclusive relationships. However in this system, communities, families and acquaintances may "pressure" men but most commonly women into committing through "slut-shaming", social ostracisation and other tacks. Women who sleep out of wedlock may be kicked out of their homes and denied employment or accommodation by most services barring, perhaps some sort of convent where the religious authorities have typically taken the child away from the mother for adoption. The role the State (if any) may have in such a system would typically be to do with banning forms of contraception such as condoms or birth control pills, usually out of some moral or religious conviction.
"Voluntary" monogamy, in it's purest form is a system where people are freely allowed to choose exclusive relationships and often do so without direct (forced monogamy) or insidious (pressured monogamy) forms of control.

It should be obvious then why forced and pressured monogamy is an unethical system. With that out of the way, let's look at why we do not consider it to be a pragmatic idea for isolated men. This is my argument:

Many late in life men that are sexually inexperienced or even virgins simply feel inadequate about having to settle down with a woman who is more experienced than they are (when she is his first but he is not her's). In this current system most people have already had sexual partners before they hit the age of 20. If polygamy is allowed to remain, at least these men have an opportunity to be promiscuous before they settle down, even if they end up being unsuccessful anyway. These guys have an opportunity to try and have the same baseline sexual experience as their future partner so they will have diminished feelings of sexual inadequacy this way. If the alternative (forced or pressured monogamy) was applied to the current system, with the sexual experience most young people have in this generation inexperienced men would just be coerced into settling down earlier with someone who would have more sexual experience anyway. Furthermore, forced/pressured monogamy assumes a system of perfect equilibrium where no-one ever cheats or has sex out of wedlock so that everyone has a "pure experience".

Also, as mentioned earlier, it would be unethical. Forced/pressured monogamy would not result in true intimacy because the women would not be with the guy out of a genuine want. With some traditional arrangements of monogamy even the man does not necessarily have a say in who he gets to marry, so not only does he not get the true experience of intimacy (being with a partner who truly wants him) but he does not necessarily even get to be with a partner he finds desirable himself. So there is no situation where forced/pressured monogamy would work for inexperienced guys with feelings of inadequacy.

Ultimately, my argument is that there's nothing wrong with being promiscuous. The problem for inexperienced men is with hypergamy. However the solution to that is not to force or make women feel obliged to have sex with inexperienced men (who may be attractive to these same women but certain social barriers and obstacles can hinder their results). Instead the solution is to address some of the attitudes and misconceptions people have, not just about polygamy but also about isolated men who are often falsely labelled with "incel" stereotypes. If we address this and remove some of the social barriers that isolated men are faced with it becomes easier for people to have happy, healthy relationships and for positive genes and values to be passed on to the next generation. If we concede that this can only happen through anti-feminist, anti-traditionalist egalitarianism and that men need a special strategy to overcome the hurdles in the 21st Century western dating scene, we can only come to the conclusion that a different kind of solution altogether is required to fully address these concerns (see the Tri-Fold solution).

Tl;Dr

Men with positive traits don't like forced or pressured monogamy because:

it is unethical
they want women who truly desire them and want to be with them, not women who were forced or socially pressured into being with them
it is not good for just any old genes to get passed on, especially by men without the right kind of qualities to pass on to the next generation and this is what happens with involuntary dating. Isolated men want a truly voluntary dating scene where their attractive, virtuous and desirable traits are truly recognised and appreciated.

Most married and divorced men. Men paying child support and not able to see their kids. Marriage and divorced breaks men in the long term. All the happy guys I know never got married. True mgtow is the path to happiness.

Go to any place where women seem to be in high supply such as the CBD of the city or at a college/university.

You seem to be focused on high SES women in ultra urban areas and college girls. Yes, I'd generally agree that those two groups of women would be happier than most men. U-30 women in urban areas, for instance, earn 10% more than their male counterparts.

Women love today's society. They get to have the sex life their great grandmothers could only dream of with all these hot guys, be validated 24/7 on demand, do whatever they want career wise** and make as much money as they want. They're always in groups, having fun, going out, living it up.

I don't think that tells the whole story, because you're missing the later half of that equation. They can make as much as they want...if they are highly intelligent, have intense work ethic, and are willing to sacrifice all of the prime child rearing years for their career. That's the catch. 30-35 year old driven career women living the sex and the city tinder caroussel in urban areas suddenly waking up and realizing it's now or never for kids if so predictable that senior male associates/consultants/engineers etc at firms build their careers around hiring such women because they know the women will leave before they become a threat.

I think there is a grain of truth to the idea but overall, I agree that it is mostly a cope. "The women fucking Chad are actually miserable!" The story is just too simple to be accurate.

With that said, "women are miserable" does not have to imply "...and therefore we should put them back in the kitchen". There are many components to this.

Cognitively elite women who were confined to a small subset of shitty jobs or the home were definitely miserable. On the other hand, I don't think it's obvious that working a shitty job is better than raising your family (I absolutely see how the power dynamic of a man being responsible for all the income could be a really shitty situation -- although it's painted as being 100% awesome for the man, this also puts a ton of pressure on him; see: situations where a guy kills his family rather than admitting he got laid off).

This thread also seems centered around a narrative of "women are all out fucking all the time and they love it", but I think that's actually making the same mistake that TRP makes (IIRC, there's recent evidence suggesting that people are having less sex than they were 10 or 20 years ago). The instant validation you talk about seems to be problematic -- aren't people posting on social media the most also the people most likely to be depressed?

More broadly, it's at least worth considering the possibility that a sexual free-for-all doesn't maximize people's long-term happiness (it seems like you're focusing exclusively on women in their 20s).

I once had a girl tell me "I wake up and fake a smile each and every day." She's always smiling in public. Glowing even. Every one who knows her speaks of how "animated" she is. At first. The closer you get the more of a drain and toll she takes on your emotional and mental state. She's also on antidepressants, drinks heavy. and does Molly at least once a month. She skipped college, works 2 minimum wage jobs, and still lives at home with her mom. She's admitted to "hating her life" and "wishing she had someplace to escape to" and finding "toxic" men attractive. She's involved with a different guy every year. She often uses guys and her idea of love, as an escape from her reality. Playing house with them as a way to get out of the house for short periods of times. She often says men are trash. I met her when she was 18. She's in her early 20s now and she told me those phrases last year. I haven't done with her since last year but according to mutual friends and her social media....She doesn't seem to be doing any better. Shes in a situstionship with a Co-worker and she constantly rants about being treated like she's avegrage. I've met several women, shit people in general, who are "happy" on the surface but those they trust soon find out every little problem that consumes their mind. Their "demons" and skeletons. It's like the happy smiley side is a front for most women. Some women are genuinely happy but I've never met a women, privileged or not who didn't have something to complain about like it was the end of their life.
