I've always objected to the trp's "women are the oldest teenagers in the house" trope. And I still do.

But if I look back at my own experiences best responses to my behaviour have always been when I was authoritarian, setting the rules of the interaction.

As soon as I soften up and do the egalitarian approach of "let's decide together" the relationship starts to dwindle.

If my attitude is "this is my life, my house, my rules... if you don't like them, not my problem" the relationship is full with passion. And there never is a hesitation on her part about meeting up or coming over to my place.

But when I start to develop feelings and actually include her in the decision making, it goes bad. My attitude transitions into "I want you be happy, so I can do something I don't want to, in order for you to have that joy". That's what it means to be "equal". That's how I treat friends and family and that's what I expect back.

But it doesn't seem to work with women in a sexual relationship. Women want that man who is in control. And from a man's perspective it means to treat her like a child who has to listen and follow his orders.

This is all about sexual attraction, not necessarily about what you want in man who supports the family (in which case the agreeable behaviour is probably preferable).

What behaviour turn you on? What kind of a man you would call your "daddy"? Is that the one who treats you with authority, like you would over a child?
