Yes. Both involve taking something of value without placing any value on the person underneath.

I don't think men grasp that women invest a lot more with sex. A woman puts her life on the line each time she has sex, since pregnancy was the leading cause of death in adult women before the modern age. If everytime a man had sex, there was a serious risk he broke his leg and died from infection he may understand what the comparison is like.

But I think its apt. Go into a used car lot and let the salesmen pretend to be nice to you because they want to take your money and want nothing to do with you after they take what they want. I'm guessing that is what a lot of women feel like when men hit on them to get in their pants.

Feeling "used" from sex is similarly based on the premise that you are losing something of value or in this case, have been devalued by sex, which women often claim is an impossibility. So if one were to believe women here, and especially feminists on this, losing something with objective and measurable asset devaluation like currency would be worse.

If you want to get down to it, you have to ask what the person lost in the transaction.

A man who gets used for money loses earnings, which came from labour he provided. So if he earns $100 an hour and she is sleeping with him to take half of that, he is essentially working 4-5 hours a day to fund her lifestyle. This excludes the emotional and sexual manipulation she may employ to maintain control over him, or even purposefully getting pregnant to make sure he keeps paying.

If a woman gets used for sex, she engages in consensual sex with a man she's hoping will commit. She doesn't have to do much more than be willing to sleep with him. What she loses is perhaps some emotional wellbeing as she has to come to terms with the fact that all she's worth is sex. She doesn't have to earn his affection by working for X number of hours per day, nor does sex take hours per day to have.

Even then, there are women who would argue that women lose nothing by sleeping with men so in effect her feelings of loss are a matter of perspective. However, the value of commitment from a high quality man is something women desire (possibly to use him for his resources) which means she might be grieving the loss of a good deal. But women seem to believe that sex with them is worth so much, they need more than sex in return to be satisfied.

They still lose zero money out of the deal and if they suffer hurt feels, there's no way to quantify it nor is it anything exceptional because everyone's suffered a broken heart before. Even if he wasted her time, she is still more than likely to find someone willing to commit if she vets appropriately next time. A man being used for money not only suffers hurt feels when he realises the truth, but he's lost hours of production that he cannot get back. He may also struggle to find a partner again and may have to pay for almost two decades for a child as a result of her manipulation.

TL;DR Men definitely lose more out the deal if they're being used for money, but women are convinced their vaginas are worth more than their willingness to fuck Chad.

Being used is never good. However, sex should NEVER be intented as a bargain chip and I think it's better to have sex with someone and get nothing than paying $$$ and get nothing in return. Both may feel "used" but it's surely worse to throw away money and getting no experience, than performing something that is supposed to be fun and not get a prize for it at the end.

Sex should be something that both parties enjoy. If some women have sex with men without enjoying it, then 1. I highly doubt they didn't enjoy it one bit so they should probably accept the way things are, and 2. If they really had sex ONLY to get something else in return they better be lobotomized because that's stupid.

It's hard to put a finger on it, when are you using somebody, or when are you parttaking of a mutual activity, some people are submissive and like the feeling of being "used." Some people are also generous and like to buy someone a gift for example.

It's ambiguous and has alot of gray areas, I think most people would like to believe their own intentions are benevolent (and plenty of people are just fooling themselves.)

In the end it's not something that can be accurately policed without some kind of oppressive culture, like trying to ensure nobody loses money on the stock market due to a bad advice from a broker.

One likes to think the broker is doing the best job he can, but the stock market and love are both inherently "lossy" affairs, only invest money/emotions you can afford to lose.

No, not really. The overwhelming majority of people who have money earned it. They spent time studying, then time working, saving, investing etc etc. A vagina isn't something that women earned, it's something that they are given.

Ultimately, when you use a woman for sex, she doesn't lose anything. So, she had sex with a guy she thought was attractive enough for a commited relationship, but he didn't want that, so what? It's not like women are honest about their n-counts enough for the n-count to be an issue with future partners.

Those seem a bit more equatable, but there are still differences. Men use women short term if it’s just for sex. Long term use for sex is called “a relationship.” Men are typically used long-term for money within the context of a relationship, but it’s questionable as to whether it actually is “a relationship.” If most people wouldn’t consider short-term sexual access “a relationship,” why would we consider long-term access to resources “a relationship?” (assuming that the woman is using the guy explicitly and exclusively for resources)
