This actually blew me away. My soccer team is a group of girls, and we had a small get together recently where this topic came up. When I asked if they truly feel this way, they were all in agreement and pretty much said ‘traditional roles’ and such. They then proceeded to brag about ditching the guy right after getting the drink, and going back to whatever guy they were more interested in. I actually thought these were exceptional people until last night.

I told them that I absolutely don’t agree, and almost never buy random girls drinks at the bar for this reason: I worked a laborious job in harsh weather from -50 to +40 (Celsius) that I hated, to make good money, and I’m not about to waste it on unappreciative and entitled random girls. Their response was that I’m just cheap.

Dude, if I felt compelled to buy every girl I interacted with at the bar a drink, I would be fucking broke. I really thought these people were grounded and kind. They’ve invited me to be on their soccer team, and hangout with them. They have been great to me. But I’m kinda considering ghosting them all after hearing this. It made me sick hearing them sound so in-genuine and parasitic.

Sorry for the rant, will probably delete later
