Destroy the concept that your teen years are supposed to be fun and once you hit 25, you’re old and it’s over. Some of us had to heal from trauma during our teen years and our 20s (30s, 40s, 50s and so on) and would like to begin a good life without constantly being told it’s too late.

Men should be forced to wear a simulator sending them mockup birth pain during labor tbh. We all know they can only handle a percentage of the real deal but then they'd understand that birth is a little bit harder than taking a shit or being kicked in the nuts

Made me think of this:

[–]NinjaCynicFDS Newbie 205 points206 points207 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If men got pregnant and went into labour, they would all need Caesarean sections under general anaesthesia to deliver.

Yeah i legit saw a drawing of this but i'm scared of suggesting it because people will tell me i'm making shit up and i will have to show them the drawing every single time, so happy someone else knows about this haha

I want one of those machines so anytime a woman has cramps and a man rolls his eyes or gets annoyed we can make him wear it. I have endometriosis so we’d be dialing that sucker up.

[–]I_know_right_AS_IFFDS Newbie 418 points419 points420 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

And these are the same men who whine and moan and throw a fit if you even suggest the idea of getting a vasectomy! Men think they're stronger than women, but they can't handle shit!

Imagine a man getting an IUD inserted without any anesthesia or numbing? Or even just getting a pap smear?! How would they even handle the smallest of period cramps?

These idiots are so fucking pathetic. Overreacting while pushing a baby out of your body!? Fuck you!

My SIL's baby just turned a year old a month ago, and her husband was being snarky with her and said "It's not YOUR birthday", EXCUSE ME KYLE, I don't remember you pushing a 10lb bowling ball out of your dick, so why don't you just sit the fuck down!

[–]MarsV89FDS Newbie 178 points179 points180 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Inserting IUDS without anestesia is another great example of misogyny in medicine. Scrotes would never go through surgery without anestesia right ? Why do we? I fainted when I got mine inserted and I have a high tolerance for pain, but for women who haven’t had children this is incredibly painful

[–]shelballamaFDS Newbie 78 points79 points80 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh my god, I've thought this so often. I'm never getting one as I've heard horror stories of things gone wrong, let alone installation pain. For me, not worth it.

That should absofuckinglutely be anesthetized, especially considering the forced birthers being uppity rn.

"Don't want abortions? Fucking make contraceptives easy and not wildly goddamn painful."

[–]throwaway_head_acheFDS Newbie 37 points38 points39 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

There is 1 gynecologist in my city (metro area of about 800,000) who offers sedation for exams if you have trauma or pain and for IUD insertion and removal. I found this out when I was looking for options and lived about 100 miles away. This was the only one in the state.

[–]MarsV89FDS Newbie 40 points41 points42 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Clinical guides in my country dont even mention it, after my first experience kissing the floor, I was searching for a better experience with the removal, only to be told that "women have a higher pain tolerance and that anesthesias are hardcore chemicals and that i shouldnt need them". The level of gaslighting in catholic countries to everything women related (specially medical stuff) is insane

[–]throwaway_head_acheFDS Newbie 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It blows my mind how we supposedly have both a higher pain tolerance and are supposedly "the weaker sex." The contradictions in their stereotypes are ridiculous.

[–]TeamWaddlesFDS Newbie 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The don’t even offer lube for Pap smears. Before you pinpoint the possibility of ruining of the sample: I’m skeptical of how a little bit of water base lube could alter the sample.

My current gynecologist added lube the last time she took one from me, after I told her how traumatizing it was for me as it is very painful and my anxiety goes through the roof. I was so grateful, it was a 180 degree turn.

“I’m a patient too, I want your exam to be painless, tell me and I’ll stop whenever you need” - and that’s how all women should be treated

[–]Japanese_LasagnaFDS Newbie 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There is some place in the world that used to (still does?) have a setup where a woman giving birth has access to her partner’s testicles to squeeze and twist throughout so he can be involved in the birth of the child.

"When he told me to shush during labour. I had a sudden flash of clarity and I knew I would be raising this baby alone because I deserved better.

I think we all had those flashes of clarity at a point in our lives when we realized someone was very very bad for us and could ruin our lives.

[–]thehappiestelephantFDS Newbie 61 points62 points63 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What a horrible time for her to realize that though. I consider myself incredibly lucky that I had that moment before marriage or kids.

[–]Equal-Ear2312FDS Apprentice 29 points30 points31 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lucky indeed. I was trapped in a speeding car with an asshole that grabbed my leg until he bruised it while telling me he loved me. I told him to stop he did not. Those were not the actions of a loving man.

[–]fingerlimepieFDS Newbie 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A week after breaking up with my LVM ex, I was walking to the train station and had a moment of clarity where i KNEW he'd one day be divorced. I wasn't even thinking about him consciously, it came out of nowhere but it came with 110% conviction. I was already well and truly over him but I think my brain had enough time to step back a bit and fit all the patterns of behaviour together.

[–]Thestral-glow6FDS Newbie 202 points203 points204 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This doesn’t even shock me tbh. Glad she knows that she deserves better though.

[–]lilac-hiraethFDS Newbie 380 points381 points382 points 4 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

My ex husband (other than making me play MTG while in labor) tried to talk me out of getting an epidural because he liked to paint me in some hippie paintbrush bullshit. I labored for 22 hours without any intervention and decided “fuck this, stick that needle into my spine” and you could see the disappointment in my husbands face. I was trembling so horribly from pain and exhaustion they almost didn’t want to give it to me fearing I might bump the needle as it was being inserted.

Anyway, got the juice and my body instantly relaxed. I could drink water without puking. I rested for 20 minutes. Baby was born within the hour.

Men do not deserve their children and wives. They don’t carry them the way women do. They don’t grow them. Women sacrifice for their children and pregnancies (or choice not to maintain them) the minute we know we’re expecting. The mental, emotional, physical and spiritual toll can never be replicated from a father to their children. They can never give a gift to rival to their partners. So few men are worth this sacrifice and gift. So many children deserve a better father. Countless women are better off without their clueless partners. I know I am.

[–]MarsV89FDS Newbie 112 points113 points114 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

What’s with that insane fetish of making women feel bad or guilty for taking MEDS while going through the most traumatic experience in their bodies? Labour is brutal. Why do men want to see their women suffer through childbirth when there’s methods now in the fucking 21 century that minimise that suffering? They hate women, and they want to see us suffer. Then the women who wear that badge of honour of going through a “clean” labour without meds as if they were better or superior are pick mes and not like other girls idiots with 0 empathy. Seriously why does the world hate women so much. And it’s specially grotesque because through labour we are literally providing the continuity of the species but still they won’t make it easier for us and shame us for using epidurals or crying of pain? World is insane , and I totally agree that really few men deserve children and most kids deserve a better father.

[–]p0ludnitsaFDS Newbie 51 points52 points53 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

My first boyfriend (who was LV but not abusive like my second bf) told me that, because I was female, my body was "designed for" childbirth and the excruciating pain would be no big deal so I shouldn't worry about it.

[–]thehappiestelephantFDS Newbie 52 points53 points54 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good to know. Of course the balls were designed for being hit, since they were purposefully dropped outside the body. Glad he was able to handle that pain since his body was designed to make them vulnerable.

[–]MOzarkiteFDS Newbie 35 points36 points37 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Women's bodies are NOT "designed for" childbirth ; why do so many STUPID men believe this-? Non human primate female bodies are, which is why there is not a single recorded case (in the wild or in a zoo) in which a chimpanzee, bonobo, gorilla, or orangutan female has died while giving birth or had any complications . The head size of a human infant plus the upright stance of the human female equals difficult labor, childbirth deaths, permanent complications...And that's with first world medicine and health care , too.

[–]MarsV89FDS Newbie 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You know, that would actually mean that scrotes would need to read biology scientific papers and actually search for unbiased sources that arent tainted with misogyny (we know how prevalent this is in the science community) instead of using facebook news and their stupid friends as sources of dogmatic knowledge. They are just dumb, any man that comes to me with BiOlOgY argumentation like that, i just cant. Worst part, im in the research field, and the amount of educated men that have this same ideas is astonishing, sadly being educated doesnt free their minds of all the pornsick misogyny

[–]MarsV89FDS Newbie 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Scrotes, as usual using their imaginary PhD`s in NOTHING to teach women about their own bodies, a classic. Im after my PhD, in a healthcare related field, my last bf though it would be useful to explain to me while i was vomitting and having one of those horrible periods that that wasnt a normal thing to do while menstruating. Like what the fuck did that uneducated loser know? I have 2 degrees, master degrees, he had......barely finished highschool. I learned my lesson lol, never again

[–]mallenstreak 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Pretty ironic, since the female body actually isn’t well-designed for childbirth, and that’s why it hurts so much. Our heads evolved to be large but our pelvises didn’t keep up.

[–]NinjaCynicFDS Newbie 57 points58 points59 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

This makes my blood boil. If you broke your arm, nobody would give you any hippie crap instead of getting decent pain relief. Labour is so much worse! It sounds like you're flourishing without him 😎

Stupid question what is MTG?

[–]ThrowRAshipsRhardFDS Newbie 29 points30 points31 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I think it's Magic The Gathering - a turn based card game which costs a fortune in collectable cards with varying rarity statuses. Meaning you have to buy more booster packs or trade/buy the rare ones you want. There are international and world tournaments for this kind of game.

It attracts a particular trope of man as it's main audience. There are some people who play that aren't the typical target audience but they are on the minority side by comparison.

some images to show MTG for context

[–]lilac-hiraethFDS Newbie 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Those pictures of MTG players cracked me up! I went to one board game competition with my ex husband so not MTG but much of the same. That said, my ex was an outlier. A 6’1”, vegan, protein huffing, gym bro with abs, sharp features, and considered handsome despite being bald. He was just as socially awkward despite his more conventional looks.

ETA: and a physically, sexually, financially, emotionally abusive asshole who didn’t have a job and liked to break my house, so, you know, he only had his looks going for him (definitely wasn’t his personality), and I have seen his parents, they ain’t looking so hot and haven’t for a while. Lol

[–]platinumprimarinaFDS Newbie 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I actually play this game! My fiancé and his friends got me into it and it’s pretty fun when you’re not dealing with the wider community so much, even if I’d love to roll into a competition and beat some dude’s ass at the game who thinks girls don’t play. That being said why the FUCK would a dude try and play MTG with a woman in LABOR who didn’t want to play?! The bar remains in hell.

[–]ThrowRAshipsRhardFDS Newbie 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Completely, I know some sound and level people who also play but it's for the social aspect of it more than the game directly. It's popular among some military squadrons too as way to pass time during down time. From my experience of the game there are outliers to the standard audience it attracts, but the wider majority are neckbeards with poor hygiene and 0 social skills.

I agree with you too definitely not a game you want to play in Labour.

[–]NinjaCynicFDS Newbie 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Your comment resonates with me so much. Damn, this is true. So true.

[–]whitefox00FDS Newbie 375 points376 points377 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I used to watch “A Baby Story” on TLC. Would see so many husbands tell the woman in labor to “calm down” and “stop screaming-you’re overreacting”. Some would roll their eyes at their wives cries of pain, like you would at someone exaggerating an injury. It made me so angry. I’m grateful that my LVM ex-husband at least had the decency to be supportive during labor.

[–]NowTrulyFDS Newbie 182 points183 points184 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

My ex husband was supportive during labor, too.

I really hung a lot on that chestnut, too. It was one of the reasons it took me way too long to understand that he’d been body-swapped with a complete monster after my kid was born.

Now I understand that the only reason he “seemed” supportive was because there was an audience he was pandering to. It wasn’t because he really was a good guy who cared: he was just a psycho putting on a show. Getting one over on the normies.

I almost wish I’d tangled with one of those “A Baby Story” scrotes instead. At least they’re decent enough to advertise their shitty character. Really wear their NVM-ness on their sleeves.

The sociopaths who can slide a mask on and pose as normal? They’re 100000% more malevolent.

[–]whitefox00FDS Newbie 86 points87 points88 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That sucks, I’m sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I somewhat relate. My ex husband would put on a show of being a great dad when people were around and then wouldn’t even raise a finger to do anything for the kids at home. He had to keep up the good guy/good dad image. They really are psychos.

My ex was also an attention hog. He didn’t like how all the attention was focused on me (during labor) and started saying “I don’t feel so good” and swaying dramatically. The doctor and all but one of the nurses left me to attend to him. Mind you, I was in active pushing labor. Luckily the head nurse in charge was not having it and started yelling at the medical staff to pay attention to the person actually going through a medical event. They all came back and attended to me after they sat my ex down and got him a juice box.

I hope you’re away from that psychopath.

[–]MarsV89FDS Newbie 36 points37 points38 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Moments of clarity, yes!!

I had a few of these. One was when a boyfriend would not touch his tongue to mine. He would French kiss but refused to touch my tongue to his alone without lips. Weird but that was a tipping point

Another told me that he’d rather play board games with his friends than support me on the anniversary of a family members death. That was it for me!

I think most men just lack the one thing that makes us human, a soul

[–]Wild_ArtioFDS Newbie 23 points24 points25 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh wow. What a dick. He probably acted like it was a joke afterward didn’t he?

My ex actually did something similar and the way it was so bluntly said: “I’d rather play video games.” I was taken aback. He tried back-tracking saying he thought I was joking about wanting him there, said he’d gladly go. But at that point I didn’t want him there, bc he showed he wouldn’t be a good support anyways. I’m sure that was the case w your ex. Their presence wasn’t exactly an addition. Mostly subtraction.

[–]FineDeliciousSnakesFDS Newbie 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]bookworm1896FDS Newbie 95 points96 points97 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

You should think that the nurses, doctors, etc would knock any man out who has the audacity to shush his wife.

I get the feeling that men cannot grasp birth. They seem to think it's just a nice walk, no problem, just push the baby out. No risk for the mother at all, easy-peasy. That makes me so angry

[–]PoorfckFDS Newbie 50 points51 points52 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Honestly? A family member of mine recently gave birth and the nurses said absolutely nothing to her unsupportive husband. He stressed her so much he made the whole experience a lot worse for her. The nurses thought it would be unfair to exclude the dad from the birth of his child.

Any time a guy asks me to calm down or "chill", I lose my shit a little bit more.

This is awful. The last example where the woman said her husband allowed her to walk home at 10:30pm when the drive would have taken him 10 minutes round trip was especially heartbreaking. He must not have cared about her at all, and I’m sure this woman realised that on the 30-minute walk home. There’s really not depth to male selfishness and depravity.

That one was really bad. He couldn’t empathize with the dangers a woman faces alone in the dark.

That actually happened. I went to visit my ex in his country and when I left his apartment at 11pm to go back to where I was staying, he didn’t even offer me a ride home even though it would have taken 10 minutes tops. He was perfectly comfortable with me walking/getting the train home by myself in a foreign country. Meanwhile, when he came to stay with me I would do a 200 mile round trip to pick and drop him from the airport. Lol. Never again will I do that for a scrote.

This is something my ex would do. Thanks god he kept his sperm for himself.

HOW DOES HE DARE TO DO THAT

Honestly, just reading the heading of the article gave me immense violence impulses.

Nice decision.

I had a hookup on Adult Friend Finder who accidentally got me pregnant. It’s a good thing that he was willing to support me and the baby. I thought he was different. But when I was in labor, he asked if I was just overacting with the pain. So there, I ran as fast as I could lol. We are good without you.
