Let’s say that you are a 5/10. Average guy, average degree, average job, not ugly but not Brad Pitt and let’s assume you’re between the age of 25 - 35 and actively dating (or trying to).

What is it that you are truly seeking when you sign up for dating apps? Are you looking for a partner, someone you can spend time with that brings positivity to your life where you share common interests, passions, goals, etc?

Are you hoping to meet someone and nurture a relationship and possibly get married down the line and start a family?

Or in this phase of your life are you just looking primarily for sex? Yes, sex is a big part of relationships so I’m not suggesting that the average woman doesn’t have her own expectations for a sex life within a relationship.

Or something else?

Just curious to hear from the men here and what your expectations are.

Based on comments I’ve seen today it seems that most men put most of their value into sex and a frequent point that’s brought up is how many women on dating apps have masses of guys in their DM’s.

The same men admit they realize the majority of those guys ONLY want sex, and when a woman says “those numbers don’t mean a lot because at the end of the day the majority of those won’t translate to a good relationship” they’re like BUT THE NUMBER OF DM’S as if all they care about is the sheer volume of small opportunities for casual sex with as many people as possible in as short amount of time as possible.
