Nah. Things didn't work out and she just happened to pay on the date before things were called off. If she were interested in a 50 split, should've been done from the very first date. Unless there was an agreement of reimbursement before paying, no one should be reimbursed here. They both willingly agree to pay despite the chance that their relationship will not work out. Not getting reimbursed is a logical consequence.

If you offer to pay for a date, all you’re doing is paying for the date. You aren’t entitled to anything after that date. It’s the same logic that guys who don’t get laid use when they send Venmo requests for dates.

Money you invest in a relationship is always going to be a gamble. Maybe it will work out maybe it won't.

The fact shes asking for half the money from a failed date says something about her personality/character. This may partly explain why the relationship failed.

I don't think people should be reimbursed for dates in general. You're paying for the experience and the potential. You're not buying a partner, so you aren't owed reimbursement for not getting a partner.

The way I see it, no dates should be reimbursed when you’re upset/mad. Make it clear whether you want to pay or split and stick to that. If someone requested me to pay after the fact, I would but I’d find it ridiculous and petty

I'm in the camp that whoever is asking for the date should be the one to pay when two people are initially getting to know each other.

Did she pay for some expensive courtside seats for a sports game that she wouldn't have been interested in if he didn't ask her to get them?

Did he talk about how he wants to share that is something he is passionate about and hinted how it's an important step toward a relationship?

Did she ask for the activities of the first two dates? Were they just as expensive as the courtside seats?

Too much context is missing in this scenario to make a judgement for me.

Look, if you're paying for the date as a covert contract that you're only doing so in hopes of gaining their affection and wouldn't have paid if you knew it would lead nowhere, don't do it. People like receiving strings-free acts of service during early dating. If they knew the details of the covert contract (If this doesn't work out I want to reimburse the value of my acts of service), I'm pretty sure 100% of people would either now see the act of service as a cheap and theatrical way of gaining their affection, and thus/furthermore would likely reject it.

this isn't natural, this is weird and gross

A woman offered to pay on the third date, so there's at least a chance that she's a masculine feminist type. Then you take into account that person in the video is talking about "her friend," so theres a chance she could mean herself. They say you align closely with the 5 closest people around you, so chances are good that the friend is probably similar to her.

If she's actually talking about herself, then yes: she is definitely the masculine feminist type. She might dress ultra-feminine, but that husky voice and other maneurisms just scream masculine, feminist boss-babe (with an added touch of valley girl, just for extra ick-factor). If she's actually talking about a friend, then the friend is probably quite similar - probably her bestie, given in what detail she is able to go into with this story.

To cut to the chase... if it became clear on the third date that a woman is more masculine then most men, I'd bail too... And I'm not paying for a fifth meal so you can recuperate the cost for one of the two meals you've paid for.
