Not counting sex workers, for obvious reasons - i’ve searched around for an actual correlation or some actual causation between dressing provocatively and actually messing around, i’ve found none.

The reason why I looked it up to begin with is through my own life, and through the lives of those I’ve known (men and women) - there are women who dress provocatively who are promiscuous, and those who dress provocatively who aren’t. In the same vain, i’ve known women who dress ‘modestly’ who are promiscuous and those who dress modestly who aren’t. Hell, the most promiscuous women I know go out wearing a pair of jeans and t-shirt and the women i knew who dress most provocatively, speaking anecdotally, usually tend to get into relationships quicker and have actually formed the most long-lasting ones.

Of course, i’m not saying dressing provocatively doesn’t mean that you are promiscuous - i’m just saying that anecdotally, i’ve never seen a correlation and more studies seem to see a link between perception (and that’s primarily due to things like social and cultural norms), but not actual behavior.

There is also the obvious question of what dressing provocatively means - ie. a skintight body suit reveals less skin, but shows off so much in body shape but a normal tank top and short shorts show more skin but the body is far less sexually revealing and suggestive.

I get the sense that so much of this is tied to perception without much of a basis in reality, i’d even go as far as saying people are parroting ideas told to them by others or ideas reenforced socially.
