Most people who go abroad do it primarily for work. I think these are just normal dudes.

The ones who do it primarily for sex as a group probably have simultaneously a higher proportion of predators and gullible suckers than average people.

The women in those countries specifically going for passport bros probably are similarly overrepresented with both predators and suckers.

I feel like it could work out, but its a scary path.

it's hard to do unless you 1) make more than 80K with remote work, 2) know at least 2 languages or are willing to learn it, and 3) aren't crazy looking. Women do have standards, so you need to try to meet them. It's a valid option if you're willing to take a leap of faith and have the means to support yourself.

I think these men travel to meet partners because in all honesty the US culture of dating heavily favors even the shittiest of women. But along with that it's a different culture altogether. I was overseas for many years and the difference between American women and European women is significantly different. Not even just as far as looks go but also having basic conversational skills. America is super individualistic while european is far more personable. You can walk up to probably anyone and have a conversation and THATS what it is. Basically, imagine walking around being completely ignored by people, then going to a place where people acknowledge and appreciate you rather than treat you like a paraiah. Of course you're going to grow an attachment to that place and the people. That's not to say everyone is good but better than the us

These guys are not "bottom of the barrel"

These guys can afford to travel internationally on a regular basis, so anyone calling them broke is clueless.

They've also identified a problem in their lives, and are taking actions to find happiness. "Bottom of the barrel" men don't do that.

Here's who the passport bros are: They are normal guys who make middle class or better income. They are the average men who are invisible to modern women, and would've been seen as fantastic marriage prospects only 20 years ago. But the dating landscape has changed drastically. Men have to deal with far more bullshit to get a woman with far less to offer than the previous generation. US women have lost their femininity, are more promiscuous than they've ever been, they lack family values especially in regards to marriage, and they are too entitled. The US dating market is extremely lopsided. It was once normal for men and women on the same level to settle down together. Now, a guy has to be a 8 to get the interest of a 5.

Passport bros have just figured out a better way. Can't even say they figured it out, since military guys have been marrying foreign women for generations. Would you rather marry a woman raised in this trash modern American culture, or a women raised in a culture that still has values?

I have heard that the women they end up with in SEA are not considered beautiful by the local culture for whatever reason. The beauty standards are significantly different. I am not sure if this is true but it's kind of interesting I guess.

A lot of the men traveling to other countries are fairly Blue Pilled and actually looking for relationships and marriages with the local women rather than sex. So I don't think that this is something that all Blue Pilled people are going to object to on principle.

All the ones I met were middle class guys. They got a good education and had everything going for them on paper but found it hard to hold down a job long term, and couldn't get a girlfriend or certainly couldn't keep one long term. Often because of anger issues, poor social skills, laziness, entitlement etc. As to how they could afford to go abroad, their parents helped them out with the money for it, thinking this might be the opportunity that will turn things around for their son. They could work abroad, it's pretty easy for anyone with a degree to work as an English teacher in many countries.

I’m all for people dating whomever they want. If someone finds a fulfilling relationship overseas, then good for them.

Personally, I think the percent of men doing this is so small that it has no significant impact on dating overall in the U.S., so I find it amusing how some feel so threatened by this incredibly small group of men that they need to resort to insults, etc.

A fallacy I often see employed here and elsewhere is to argue that men who choose not to marry in the U.S. must be incels who couldn’t get a date if their life depended on it. A man realizing marriage doesn’t benefit him doesn’t mean he’s bottom of the barrel and again I find it interesting that some people feel threatened and/or bitter enough about men not marrying so as to resort to insults.

I find that the men that consider themselves “passport bro’s” only travel to select regions and do so in a attempt to try and stunt on and provoke the women of their home country. They usually post about how much better the women are, but most of the “passport bros” are buying a ticket to go overseas and pay for cheeks.

They are prime targets for honey traps and scams in the seediest of night live venues in southeast Asia. Let's face it dudes, these passport bros don't really go to Thailand with a genuine interest in Thai culture. They go there because they think Thai women are pretty and easy.

Protip: Actual Thai women do not like to talk about sex, nor that they like to be talked to just because they are thought by others to be pretty or easy. Also every day working Thai women =/= seedy bars Thai women.

I think it's safe to say that it's looked down on, especially by women. There used to be a guy in my social circle who married a thai girl using a "service" whatever that means. Total tragedy. He quickly became persona non grata, lost his friends, his partner bought his half of the practice, and he wound up in Ft. Defiance AZ (the res) doing shit work (for a doctor) for shit pay, and his thai bride wasn't having it and went back to Thailand.

I think those guys take several different forms? Obviously there's a manosphere push to see them as all the same thing by labelling them all passport bros. And it is reasonable to assume the motivation behind this is to obfuscate the different problems with each of the different forms.

A lot of the types of passport bro are indeed in some way low value. A few decades ago a lot of men on disability payments in Australia were going to Asia to get wives...it was a bit of a mess because too many of the marriages didn't last and often ended in domestic violence requiring expensive responses. Nothing like being trapped with a man with poorly controlled bipolar in a foreign country to lead to misery. So the government significantly increased the overall cost of going through that process of bringing a wife over and then suddenly the most problematic of the matches stopped happening so often. The men involved just couldn't afford it. We as a nation took adminstrative action to reduce the problems low value passport bros were causing. Can't get much more real than that.

A portion of the passport bros are low value...and where being a passport bro is cheaper and easier that portion becomes higher.

So. How's the cost of getting your international spouse into your country permanently? That cost says something. That cost is there to vigorously discourage certain men.

Of course there's other passport bro forms. There's sex tourists who basically have their own totally different dynamics...a lot of them are bottom of the barrel and go international because they have a fetish for power differential that their low value means they can only indulge with hookers in a poor country. There's men who moved overseas to work then just decided well now I date here... they're probably the best of the passport bros. . There's sexpats...who moved overseas permanently to have sex and personally I think that permanently leaving ones cultural heritage and allowing any resulting children to be raised outside your cultural heritage just to get sex is a sign something is incompetent with a person's SMV but others may disagree.

Yes, in general I think they're bottom of the barrel in terms of looks and character. They may or may not be wealthy, but I don't think money changes your place in the barrel, if anything it makes you worse because you have the money to be a better person than you are and you aren't. But also, a lot don't have much money, they're just taking advantage of currency exchanges.

But also, you do you boo boo. Don't come crying to us when you find out that those exotic women have just as many thorns and twice as many claws and are abusing your asses for being a disappointment.

I agree with the idea(men going were they are treated the best) but not the execution (not being in shape, financially stable or working on your social skills before you go). I think most BPers don't mind it as long as the person is being wholesome/morally good about finding a partner. If they're exploiting the possible knowledge and experience gap, then its a bit creepy. If you're looking for a woman within your same IQ/socioeconomic circle/etc then its perfectly smart thing to do if you can find anyone local, or if you particularly love the culture of that person.

I think it's kind of cool there's like a couple thousand women going over to SKorea and marrying guys there.

However, ever since my brother married someone from abroad, it really has changed my perspective - he doesn’t fit in to any of the negative stereotypes nor does she . But the name?
