Not the point do this post, but ofc she assumes dad is the breadwinner in the parents’ home. Also, she forgot $$$$ in makeup and nice clothes and shoes. Honestly if you don’t get money (or equivalent goods and expensive experiences) from your man for the beauty HE is consuming (through adorning you) it’s a massive pink tax. Why would I pay? My dad pays $300 for my hair, not that he has to. He occasionally pays the $45 for my nails. Even the $900 for my laser hair removal machine. And the regular yummy dinners and desserts.

He’s just generous and confident in his ability to not only provide basic things but also gift me more. He doesn’t do it because he’s asked to. In fact, I never ask. He just knows how to treat a woman that deserves this kind of stuff.

He opens every door for me, keeps an eye on my gadgets and things in case they need replacing, just the other day he offered to include me in one of his academic journal publishing offers because he knows I want to get my name out there and the journal article happened to be my exact area of expertises, as well as his. He got me a cat a few months ago. A new drawing tablet over Christmas and $1000 for my birthday since he couldn’t make it and gift me something in person.

He takes interest in my interests. He even uses the same skincare products as me. He knows I love board games so he bought three beautiful chess sets, one glass, one gold and one marble. He got himself a speaker because I use a speaker to listen to music.

Sometimes, he’ll ask me to cook for him when it’s a Friday and he wants to spend dinner with family. But even when I don’t want to because I’m tired or lazy, he doesn’t press me. He offers to order my favourite food instead.

He does all of this because he respects me and loves me and knows my worth. He believes in my abilities and goals and wants me to flourish. Granted he isn’t perfect, he has flaws. But that still doesn’t stop him from treating me.

I will never accept anything less 💋
