The usual complaint that I've seen from women on reddit and other media about the female experience on dating apps is as follows:

"Girls have their own problems. It's hard to find guys that want to take it slow and behave properly, most get sexual way too quick and behave grossly."

My argument is that this is only to be expected given female typical swiping behaviour.

My argument is based on two simple facts:

  1. Women like a very small amount of male profiles (aprox 5%).
  2. The top% of men hoard a large portion of the total likes. The top 10% of men hoard approximately half the likes. This demonstrates that women don't have a very unique taste, and they don't all like a different 5% of the men.

Given these two facts, it is evident that many women, probably most women, are only accepting men completely out of their league, in the relationship sense. It is, therefore, not suprising that the only men that these women are matching with are men looking for easy uncommitted sex.

To put it in simple terms, these women's complaints are just a bunch of 5s rejecting the male 5s, only giving at chance to begin texting to guys that are an 8 and above, and then complaining that those guys don't fool around and get sexual fast as if they didn't have a bunch of other 5s in line to choose from.

In summary: Imagine looking through 100 male profiles, deciding that 95 of them don't even deserve a chance to get to talk to you, and then complain that the same 5 guys that all the other women have chosen are behaving like people do when they have all the choices.

By the way, "too many matches" isn't a valid complaint either. If that was a problem, women would just stop swipping. You swipe 10 times, get 5 matches, and begin talking to these men to see if you like someone. But women don't do that because the first, second and third most usual use that women give this apps is getting attention, validation and entertainment (but that's a topic for a different post).
