I've been on the fence for asking for a divorce for the last year. My wife and I have been married for only 3 years but I don't think this will last. As we've lived together there are things from personality to just overall lifestyle that is incredibly frustrating to me. As I've gotten older I've come to better realize my mortality and my desire to experience life to its fullest the way I want to and she doesn't seem interested in the same things.

I want to travel the world and experience new cultures. Her idea of travel is just sitting at the beach all day. I'm a curious person and enjoy going to museums and historical sites to learn things whereas she is more concerned with getting the best picture for her Instagram post. I'm interested in current events, science podcasts, politics etc whereas she just likes pop culture.

As far as lifestyles, I bear the brunt of responsibilities as far as cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning and yard work while she symbolically will help out without actually doing meaningful assistance. Anytime I ask for more effort she gets mad that "I'm talking to her like a child" even though asking for help on chores is a typical thing a parent will say. It drives me nuts that she just has piles of unfolded clean clothes versus putting them away for example. We met straight when she got out of Grad School so she never really had to experience taking care of all this on her own.

Not only all of this, but our sex life is terrible. She shows no interest in me anymore even though I've been working out consistently and only improved my body since we've met. I've always been cognizant of her needs in the bedroom but for me she seems like as long as I get off then I should have loved it. I'm just looking for some passion and actual desire versus a checking the box on our anniversary sex life.

And now she is really pushing for us to have kids. All of her friends are having them and I keep pushing it off because I have such doubts in this relationship. I know that once we have kids it is a completely different situation and I just can't imagine being genuinely excited if she told me she was pregnant.

In the end keep hesitating to actually initiate the talk that we need to end the marriage because she isn't a bad person. She's nice and has a good work ethic and I know this will be absolutely devastating to her. But I've told her the things that I'm unhappy with and she hasn't shown the real drive to fix things that I'm feeling. My life wouldn't be terrible if we were to be together long term, I just wouldn't feel fulfilled and feel like I settled for someone I'm not truly compatible with. I just feel terrible as there hasn't been a major blowup in our relationship that I can point to as to why we should divorce.

What do you all think? Is this enough to end the marriage?
