Now, they hate diversity and LGBT people with this backlash. They wanted this game to fail as soon as they saw this trailer. What’s wrong with this trailer? It doesn’t have a human white male character. Thats it.

Okay now I know that you are talking straight out of your ass.

The reason why the trailer was so bad and why the subsequent game was worse was because this game was supposed to be conclusion of a 15 year story.

A story that is supposed to be heading on a world ending cataclysmic actions. The stakes have never been higher. The tension has never been higher. This franchise is DARK AF and this trailer was the fucking opposite of all of that.

It was a hero shooter trailer masked as an RPG game. That's why it was recieved so horribly. Fuck you for even implying the opposite, wanna know why people really hate the gane? I'll post my own reviews:

All of those games were bad and/or trying to cope with poor sales/reception and many have hostile devs who explicitly state they hate their audience in many cases

These games will fail, studios will soon shut down or be sold off and Japan will continue to implement diversity in their games in a better manner and they will succeed

Yeah, recently they shat themselves because of new witcher trailer. And obviously there were comments that Ciri is ugly, old and not sexy. Other comments were that games are for men and they don’t want to play as a woman etc.

So playing it will give me even more pleasure now, and I was already excited about new Witcher, I grew up with Sapkowski.

And did you see recent Myron’s meltdown about women playing overwatch? He got so emotional it was ridicolous. And men like this make me want to keep playing games even more.

These ugly characters aren't just ugly they are actively repulsive and made that way on purpose not in a stylized way or that adds character to the game which shows through on the gameplay and every attribute the game has. This is just what happens when passionless bureaucratic women work on games, they throw away the integrity of the whole thing they don't want to make a fun or interesting game they want to stand up, virtue signal and say look how great i am for making this female character look like a troll and making everyone gay.

The thing about the people upset by this stuff you don't understand is we hate the culture people like you created, and we want it destroyed it. Feels nice to be on this side of things finally tbh

This is so stupid. People have always used art to create characters who are stronger, braver, more heroic and more beautiful than real humans. Using art to try to intentionally cram ugly characters down people's throats is activism, simple as. Also, you can't be bigoted against fictional characters because they are not real people.

As far as I'm concerned, they can keep releasing flop after flop like Concord and Veilguard. It's extremely entertaining when they try to pander to the "modern audience" that never actually buys their games.

The games are objectively bad, and kind of show that it’s damn near impossible to create IP that appropriately encompasses the hero’s journey through a feminine lens.

Also, while this is a rare instance where I agree with Lilith, I HAVE to call you out on your misrepresentation of the dandadan drama, that “art” was blatantly traced from a panel of the anime and it was found that the owner of that account had been charging commission fees for their race swapped drawings that were glorified edits of screen caps from the original. What’s more, many of the individuals who were involved in this drama were overt hypocrites who supported blackwashing Asian characters but would rage to the max if any other races not considered “diverse” enough tried to interpret what a character would look like as their race, and the artist or one of their friends had also thrown a massive hissy fit over a humanized drawing of puss in boots for making him white (even though he’s very obviously a Spaniard) and accused him of racism for it. What’s more, the Japanese audience actually picked up on it and when they felt that it was quite racist how certain individuals on black anime twitter could ONLY engage with their work by modifying it into their culture (and with shitty low effort edits may I add), the artist and their followers not only didn’t pay any mind to it but doubled down and started calling Japanese people racist for being uncomfortable with the way foreigners were depicting THEIR CHARACTERS.

Were there a lot of racists on twitter using the situation as a thinly veiled excuse to say the n word? Yes. But I find it far more concerning how certain subsections of American black people have no concept of the golden rule and will cry and whine about racism, whitewashing and how they should OWN black characters in media while simultaneously trying to take over the depiction of characters belonging to other minority groups and calling those groups racist for calling them out on their hypocrisy.

Neckbeards do go too far, a lot, like saying Ciri is ugly and they don’t want to play as a woman (Yawn) but some of their criticisms do stem from an actual issue some of these games have, usually from the writing and presentation.

As an example, I present Baldurs Gate 3 as my argument.

Baldurs Gate 3 is extremely LGBT friendly and almost nobody cares. There’s gay relationships everywhere, everybody is pansexual, you can play as a trans man/woman, you could play as a man and gale would hit on you, etc.

Compre that to Dragon Age, they’re essentially the game genre and theme, fantasy RPG, same gay relationships, same trans acceptance, same everyone is pan, etc.

One is beloved my almost everybody I know in person and online, both woke and non-woke alike, the other is considered woke trash that even my ‘woke’ friends finds bad. So what is the actual difference?

It’s mainly about how those themes are implemented and, honestly, how attractive the characters are.

In Baldurs gate 3, all of your companions are hot and sexy, right out of the gate there’s no ‘uncanny’ feeling or just general ugliness shown that the games you mentioned have. Yes people do play these games because the characters are attractive, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Then you’ve got how the LGBT and otherwise ‘woke’ parts are implemented. In BG3 you very simply live in a world where everyone is pansexual, some are trans, and that’s a just considered normal. Nobody points it out, nobody makes a big deal out of it, it’s not seen as a good or bad thing, it just is that way because that’s the world they live in. It feels like you’re living in a different world where this is just normal every day stuff, and so it’s immersive.

Compared to Dragon’s Age where it’s very much ‘in your face’ so to speak. For example, Why do surgery scars exist in a world of literal magic, or when everyone is talking about a serious mission and it’s abruptly interrupted because they misgendered the non-binary character and needed to correct her and it’s just awkward to watch - https://youtu.be/AMP1S9EDlFU?si=HU72bIbB1T1j3nVy and lots of little things like this, it takes you out of the game and makes you realise it’s a story written by a bunch of people who really want you to know how progressive they are.

Conclusion: Attractive characters are cool, bad writing is bad.

I consume content with gay characters. I watch shows with gay and Trans people in them. I play games with female protagonists.

I don't consume content that is about being gay or Trans or feminist. No books about being gay. No shows about how trans people live. It doesn't interest me.

They went from fun video games with interesting and diverse characters, to being about liberal issues. It's in your face the content is now virtue signaling. The focus has switched from making a quality game, to making statements.

The content itself has always been bigots and neckbeards, and their primary audience has always been lonely men mad at the world. The reason why they gained some traction to begin with is, it also doesn’t help that online algorithms feed you what you already want to see and in all fairness, sjw level lunacy did get to comical levels for a short while.

That being said, the left had also made an effort to distance itself from its much crazier end, especially in recent years, while still maintaining very progressive values. The right, meanwhile, made reactionary content their whole identity. Like when you break it down, the right believe in nothing now other than “stick it to the wokes”

But I think with the set of recent events, the anti-woke grift is beginning to be seen for what it is, and the game awards is a sign of this. Never have I seen anti woke content be met with a resounding “shut the fuck up” from the majority of people. It’s a promising step. The view of these people as uptight party poopers is very clear - ironically, the anti woke side had become just as insufferable as those they won’t shut up about
