Mainly directed at guys who complain that women’s standards for men are too high.

As a guy, I have to say a lot of my peers don’t put the biggest effort into their appearance. So many of my friends or guys I know will have long dirty nails, an unshaven face, greasy hair (if it gets shiny its time to wash FFS), cheap/dirty clothes with no cohesive style, etc. I don’t think it would be controversial to say women tend to put more effort into their appearance than men, so why are we surprised that men are attracted to most women but not the other way around?

I think a lot of guys (including me) tend to underestimate the amount of effort or upkeep that your appearance takes. That hot guy who always has the best fits and hair? He didn’t wake up like that, and I promise you he thinks about his appearance every second of the day.

Women are hornier than you give them credit for, guys. They just need something to work with. Get a skincare routine, a new haircut, a new wardrobe, a new piercing, or anything!! Lifting weights can also change your face more than you think, even if you’re not overweight. There are so many available ways to improve your appearance, but as men we aren’t really socialized to put that much effort into it.

Before someone says women should be dating men they aren’t physically attracted to, try suggesting to your male friend group that one of them dates a ‘fat’ girl. Not likely to go well, in my personal opinion.
