Call me ignorant but i've lived with people cleaner and messier than me and I never got to experience the big deal about chores (with few odd exceptions like when me and my friend ended up in a huge 3 hour fight over throwing wipes in the toilet, which was both funny and ridiculous even to us one hour later.)

I don't get what people need to spend all this communication on, I swear reddit makes it sound like a normal couple has to draw charts and fill out excel sheets to manage, and that's after couple's therapy.

From my point of view, I would absolutely HATE to be tied to a schedule and duty that way. I would rather have the other side be messy than be expected to do specific chore at a specific time. It sounds awful.

But that aside, here are my comments:

  1. How much chores do you even need to do in one day?

  2. Why not just taking care of things that bother you throughout the week and then every now and then do a strategic team effort cleaning?

  3. Why not get a maid (I know money is a thing, but if you're going so insane it seems like a sensible investment and imo isn't even that pricey, just get a senior who is retired and wants some extra cash to come on occasion or something)?

  4. If you think you're doing too much because the other side simply cares less, why not just stop and handle your stuff only. Who cares if their clothes are on the floor?

Basically, what is really the problem here that requires so much drama?

I think that if living with someone brings more stress and effort into your life than living alone, then it's just not worth it. Live apart and meet each other for dinner and drinks our once a week, seems like it would solve many problems.
