Me personally wouldn’t date a woman I find unattractive and wouldn’t want to have sex with anyone I don’t find attractive either but I wouldn’t be repulsed or obviously reject her. I would more than likely engage in conversation, ignore/deflect her signals while casually mentioning a girlfriend.

There's always, "I'm kinda seeing somebody" or, make some mmm sound like somebody just tempted you to veer off a diet, or offered you alcohol, and be like, "Damn. If a women makes the first move like for instance approaches me at a bar it doesn’t necessarily mean I will want to have sex with her or date her. If I don’t find her attractive I probably will not want to date her or sleep with her.

When a women approaches though no matter her level of attractiveness you know what it does? It makes me respect her. Women are told or think that they shouldn’t make the first move. Is it to avoid potentially dangerous situations or because they don’t want to look like a slut or because they have so many other options they have no reason to? It’s probably a combination of all of those and more.

If a women approaches it shows she’s confident, she’s not afraid to go against the grain, she’s secure enough to put herself out there. It shows she’s different and in and of itself to me it is very attractive.

Define what type of unattractive . There are dozens of types of (not fat) initially unattractive women I have encountered and my reaction can range from very repulsed to give it a chance and see what happens. Funny enough the woman that I was the most physically attracted just kind of grew on me. I didn't see much in her initially (maybe a 5) but after some time everything about her produced a very intense reaction for me.

1) Even if repulsed, I wouldn't shoo her away. That's really freaking rude - and yes, that's something women do to men at times and very distasteful. I'd recognize that it took her some guts to make the first move. Many women don't understand how difficult it can be to open yourself to rejection!

2) I'd probably ignore her signals. I don't currently have a gf but there is someone I'm kinda "talking with," where it might head in that direction, so I might mention that, to make it more clear.

3) I wouldn't expect sex right away; I'm not the prototypical Chad to just expect that from women. And I've generally pursued full relationships. But if she makes it clear that she's interested in sex right away I'd consider it. This pandemic has me feeling lonely and a FWB would be nice! 😥

4) I'd consider it, cause sometimes someone's personality really can win you over and make them seem more attractive over time. But you said unattractive, not just plain or average, so it's hard to say for sure.

Other thoughts:

- Even if I have no interest in dating her, I'm always open to making new friends, so I'd still be willing to hang out with her as a friend if her personality is interesting. I actually have more platonic female friends than male friends. I'd just have to make sure she doesn't get the wrong idea.

- Even if I found her unattractive, I'd be flattered by the attention. Who doesn't want to be wanted??

- Ladies, please be kind when you reject someone.

I'm not sure. It's difficult to say because it's not actually happening right now. What's the context? Is she some stranger approaching me in a public place like the mall while I'm eating or looking at something? Is it someone I know already that I am seeing for some reason like a party with mutual friends?

Everyone has their ideas about what "attractive" and "unattractive" is, and they're not all equal. Are you saying that she's conventionally unattractive? Has bad hair/skin? Facial or other physical deformities?

I can't really give an answer without any context. I'd probably still talk to her but I can't say that I would share her enthusiasm or intentions.

I once had a hispanic girl yell at me "HEY SEXY!" "HEY SEXY!" "HEY SEXY!" (i was anything BUT sexy) from the 3rd floor of her apartment while i was walking on the street when i was a young lad. I consider ignoring people VERY rude and counterproductive. I would respond when I perceive I am given signals. I would respond with a polite yes, no or maybe. But I would not ignore... at least, not for much time. (there is some places where a blunt but polite answer is not exactly proper from the get go.)

Not really. It would be good, and it would to be the norm. but I don't expect anything. It is her choice to behave however she wants. How I behave just depends on how she behaves and what proposition she has in mind for a interaction. this is a negotiation. 'fun' is for afterwards.

I would politely turn her down if I wasn’t attracted to her, or I would deflect to trying to just be friends with her depending on the situation. This really needs more context. If I were out running errands, I’d happily engage in friendly banter. If I were at work, I’d remain professional. If I were at a singles night kind of mixer, I’d chat for a bit before finding a way to gracefully exit. If she were very direct, I’d give her a thanks but no thanks kind of response.

I wouldn’t expect sex from her, nor would I try to escalate things sexually in the absence of attraction. I also wouldn’t try to date her in the absence of attraction. If her personality and our interests aligned perfectly, I’d be more likely to befriend her than try to date her. I’ve adopted a “fuck yeah” type of mentality to dating. If I’m not excited about her, I move on. I’d rather stay with my “backup plan” sugar baby than be in a mediocre relationship for the sake of being in a relationship.

The definition of unattractive itself is too broad, it can be anything from just not feeling very attracted to repulsion that you can't get over no matter what.

In the first case I'd still be happy and would try to date her, although I am sure I would somehow fuck everything up. Nothing like that ever happened to me so I do not exactly know how will it go. I imagine the world should completely change for that to happen.

Once in a while I get the impression that someone MIGHT have found me attractive or interesting but I can't be sure, so I just assume they aren't. TBH, I've always had a bit of trouble differentiating when a woman was just being nice or was into me. Maybe I'm on the spectrum... I have family members who are. Usually escalating things would clear things up in a jiffy! LOL.

How could you possibly not fall at a girl like that? I mean, does looks really matter at that point? Doesn't have to only be because she's unattractive. I've done the exact same thing with attractive women I had no interest in for one reason or another.

The best possible thing to do is just ignore her advances, and let her come to her own conclusions. Obviously you're just too dense to see she's making a move on you, or you're already involved with someone else, or maybe you're gay. It can't possibly be because of her.

That way her feelings are spared, and you don't have to awkwardly explain why you're not interested. It's better for everyone.

Uh...I would probably not even believe it was happening, to be honest. After I got over that shock I don't know what I'd do. Probably I'd end up ignoring her signals.

Unattractive by general societal standards or unattractive to me? And being somewhat fat (as opposed to obese) isn't at all a deal breaker for me as I am generally more attracted to that then to stick thin.

Also her signaling interest in me knocks her attractiveness up a few notches; being friendly a few more. I'd be a bit suspicious but willing to go along and see where things went with either sex and/or dating.

With looks there is often something in her face or body to find attractive. If I genuinely found her physically unattractive but everything else about her was pleasant, I'd still be willing to talk with her and possibly become acquaintances or friends.

Well people tell me that my resting face is like a serial killer's (I'm 99% sure it's because my eyes are very blue, making them very sensitive to light, so I'm always squinting/glaring), so I'd probably question her capacity for self-preservation.

Am not a serial killer btw. Pretty sure the threshold is three.
