I'm attracted to women who have hobbies and interests that they really enjoy and can talk intelligently about. Don't care what they are. A woman who's super into knitting (or something else I have no interest in) and can talk about it for hours and has visible passion is 100x more attractive than a girl who likes the same stuff as me but can't go past the surface level

I mean it rocks when she shares the same interests as me. I remember when my friend got so excited on my behalf when I told him this girl I was talking to also watches anime.

When a guy is super into anime, video games, mechanical keyboards etc. It is great if she shows interest and just awesome if they share the same hobby.

But in my case I don't think it is huge weight. I would say like 25% maybe.

So like I said hobbies and interests that we can do together are great - stuff like reading books, we can suggest each other books, discuss anime, philosophy, history, evolution, personally I have a wide range of interests so anything is fine as long as they get really passionate and go deep.

I think most guys like to see that passion in their partner. Like I know nothing about makeup but if she can teach me about how foundation is applied, the sculpting they do, lash extensions, nail painting, it would be cool.

Then I admire hobbies and interests that compliment mine. I don't cook that much, so if she loves to cook that would be great because I love to eat and could learn from her. I am pretty bad at decoration, color combination, fashion. But I can appreciate aesthetics. So I think similar interests and complementary skills. I could handle taxes, investing, plan trips, but the most optimal model of fridge, etc because I have math/logical analysis skills.

But this is a hard question, people who share my interests tend to have the same skills I have. while girls who are different than me in the way they think, interests also tend to have the skills I lack so maybe I am looking for a unicorn?

Any hobby that is creative. E.g. playing musical instruments, singing, creating art, acting, writing, coding, growing food, woodworking, etc…

But most people believe consuming things count as hobbies: listening to music, watching movies, eating food… building a supposed ‘eclectic’ identity around stuff that other people have created.

I feel like most people want a partner that has at least some overlapping interests...even if they're only kinda adjacent. If no overlap, then at least a few interesting things so you know they've got something going on (extenuating life circumstances permitting, obviously) and you can get a sense of who the person is a bit.

Fitness related things (running, hiit, yoga) as I find they also count as meditation, cooking and baking - love trying new recipes or trying to re-create meals I’ve had at restaurants, I’m a voracious reader of novels and also clinical/research papers in my occupation. I enjoy researching and writing papers too, but am too busy for that at present. I also restore sporting equipment when I have time - stuff I buy cheaply because it’s wrecked and I restore it and sell for profit. I also have a few hobbies I share with my partner, so we do some things together and we both have our own. Our together ones include experiences rather than consumption - so for example we’d rather try a new sport or activity together like archery or rock climbing than go out for dinner. We play board games together and with family/friends, we hike, and picnic, and dance.

Women who are into music or play an instrument get instantly sympathy from me but thats because I'm a guitarist who plays in various bands. In general i think its just important to have something you really enjoy doing. I know some people who just dont know what to do on their own. Thats a huge turn off. I know a few women who are extremely jealous and control freaks. Most of them just can't be alone because they have nothing to do (despite thegeneral mental issues). So i think having atleast one serious hobby is super important.

My hobbies are reading, writing, politics and general aesthetics. Also travel but not long distances...I am talking more things like checking out every secondhand bookshop I can get to via public transport, having a picnic in every local conservation park, etc. If someone says a particular supermarket is the best in town off I go to see it. Found out that the local Mormons now have a golden statue on top of their temple? Let's take a look. I don't need a particularly relevant reason to go see local sights.

I'm a very amateur writer and I love sci-fi because I am just naturally into science. My childhood influence was Jules Verne, my dad gave me a book of his stories and when I read Journey to the center of the earth that is what set me off on a eternal discovery mission. Also read Charles Darwin's Voyage of the Beagle. So basically I read a lot and nobody ever expects that of me cause of the way I look. I get judged as a male bimbo sometimes.

I also like old movies, old books, mythology, and I have a fascination with Wizards, as dumb as that sounds. I like wizards as both historical figures, myths, and archetypes. The first wizard I ever saw was in The Sword in the Stone. Then the next "wizard of sorts" was Doc Brown from Back to the Future. In my boy brain it all just clicked and it started my fascination with crazy characters, science, and Wizards.

When I feel attracted to a girl i guess whatever her hobbies are they really do not matter to me at all. A woman's hobbies have absolutely no bearing on her attractiveness.

But now with experience whenever I meet a girl who is into writing and likes getting lost in her own little worlds that is attractive on a whole new level to me. One girl likes to draw out these little comics of herself where she pours out all her experiences and feelings and it's like looking into a little window into her mind and her dreams. While I was reading her comics for the first time and getting a glimpse into her inner life she kept staring at me specifically trying to read my face to see what I think about it and I found that to be cute as hell.

I write a bunch of shit just for the fun of world building and character exploration so when people read my stuff I genuinely don't care what they think but seeing how much my opinion meant for this girl's writings and drawings made it click in my head that she was sharing something pretty intimate so I had to treat her a delicately as if the pages were her emotions put to paper. So I did and told her I found her comics to be profound and full of self reflection as well as self projection on what she believes her ideal self to be.

Anyway, a girl's hobbies don't matter at all in determining how attractive she is is but they do make her a little extra special in a man's eyes because we get to see her being herself without us and that is always intriguing. Women in their natural habitats have a special kind of allure.

Of course. If a woman's hobbies are the generic "travelling, watching Netflix, listening to music" and things like that, I can assume that she's as boring as a rock.

Personally, some hobbies I'd find enticing in women would be: reading classic literature and philosophy, learning new languages, knowing about investments, enjoying Manga/Anime, to name a few.

I think most men probably care (or at least should care) about a woman's hobbies if they're interested in having a LTR. Focusing only on attraction is a surefire way to end up in a shitty relationship, IMO.

I like learning to cook something new. Teaching my dog new tricks. Going to farmer's markets to shop for vegetables and locally made candles. Going to thrift stores for random treasure hunts. I'm big on buying things used as much as possible.

Current hobbies are crochet, sewing, cross-stitch, softball (although the season just ended), reading, playing board games, hiking, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, watching tv and movies, baking/cooking, skiing, and shopping.

I’m trying to get into running now, and in the past I’ve dabbled in kickboxing and BJJ, as well as competitive hockey when I was younger. Eventually I’m going to break into knitting too. I also want to get to the gym more often.

In terms of men’s attraction - I don’t think my hobbies hurt. Generally people find it nice that I make stuff (sewing/crochet/making food) and are surprised that I used to play hockey. I enjoy making gifts or food for friends with what I’ve learned and that’s my favorite thing about it all - that also seems to make people happy, which is nice.

I read, and I collect signed first editions. We hike every day, usually at a park near our house but we also like to visit other trails we read about in our vicinity. Our usual trail is approx 4 miles and has a river for swimming and playing. I’ve been to 44 states and 6 provinces, and to various Mexican cities. I am a decent cook and baker. My work is in politics and I also volunteer for political causes and events. I don’t play a lot of video games but I do play online Scrabble and Pokémon Go. I come from a family of musicians so that’s a lifelong passion and pre-Covid I tended to drag people to live shows, big ones or tiny local ones. I’m not picky. I’m also obsessed with Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, pick up any copy I can find with the various artwork, and also whatever trinkets or memorabilia. Preferably the Tenniel drawings but Disney will do in a pinch.

My hobbies:

• Video games. Currently playing "Nioh 2";

• reading books (fantasy/sci-fi);

• board games;

• PnPRPGs. Due to corona, this pile of dice is gathering dust (and I still ordered these dice);

• jigsaw puzzles. I haven't done them in years due to lack of space (and it probably wouldn't do good to my back to do them on the floor as I did before). I started with 500 pieces one (my parents bought me one for birthday when I was around 10) and went up to 3000 pieces before I stopped

• Magic: the Gathering. Due to logistical issues I usually play just pre-releases. I like to play sealed/limited. Feels more like an even ground (no one will bring their super OP meta deck) and creating a deck from ~90 cards is better/easier for me than creating a deck from ~1000 cards or more.

• Reading comics. I mainly read "Webtoons"

Dunno if it would be called hobby, but I started to watch movies/series in languages I don't understand (with subtitles that I do understand).

What is a hobby exactly? I don't think I have hobbies. I work full time, am in school on the side, ride my bike for transportation, read periodicals for knowledge, and workout for health. I think of a hobby as something one does for pure pleasure. There's nothing in my life like that besides cooking and hanging out with friends, and those activities are too universal to be called "hobbies." I guess I have my plants. Sure, I tend to my plants as a hobby.

I don't think that matters as long as she is curious about the world. Can she take an interest in what's going on around her at any given time, even if just in passing? That's more interesting to me than a hobby. I like generalists rather than specialists. That's also why when people talk about how they want people with passion it doesn't mean a great deal to me. You can be passionate about whatever ultranerd thing and it's fine, but it's not a prerequisite of some kind.

I work out,play poker,travel,write and record music, politics,I make playlists,cook,watch tv shows and movies from mainly around the 90s - early 2000s king of the hill,my name is Earl etc,watch YouTube videos I watch daily dose of internet,history, documentaries,diy,short fact videos etc I read biographies and autobiographies never got into fiction and I buy and sell rare electronics I find at garage sales going for 2 bucks and worth 75.

My husband likes listening to music watching tv shows and movies, animals,shopping being pampered with bathes spas massages,writes music plays acoustic guitar,writes in a journal,reads fiction I think those things are the most attractive hobbies for a man.

The term hobbies sounds a little funny to me - I think of something along the lines of putting together model airplanes or collecting stamps. I watch a lot of sports so it would be great to have someone to watch the games with but I realize that may not be easy to come by. I'm not that familiar with popular female interests but would be at least willing to learn a little even if it's not something I'd want to spend a lot of time doing.
