I belong to several BII (breast implant illness) groups. While so many of us are suffering and working to get these toxic bags out, we're getting it from both sides. Many doctors keep telling women that if they take them out that their breasts are going to be ugly, scarred and granny like (it’s not true; most women no matter the age have gorgeous breasts after).

Then there are the husbands. No matter the fact that so many women have literally ended up sick and are literally dying from the diseases breast implants cause, their husbands are like. “So WhAt If YoU’rE dYiNg; Me WaNt BiG fUn BaGs To PlAy WiTh.” It’s disgusting to read. And it just reaffirms my decision to not date right now.

Intellectually I know those expectations are bullshit, but intrinsically I can’t shake them.

I still see my body as a series of flaws despite years of therapy and self work.

I just hope that the work women are doing now to deconstruct these damaging ideologies will make it better for women in the future.

I used to be "natural." And my ex-LVM would comment on any hair on my body - I have very dark hair so its hard to always be hairless. He would neg me and put me down. He wouldn't want to be seen with me. I spent all of my time arguing with him and being gaslit that I truly neglected myself. I wouldn't eat well and was always bloated even tho I had always had a flat stomach. Now I take care of myself. I put *all* of my energy into being pampered and relaxed. I always look my best for me. I feel like I look so much better now that I am not pouring any energy into anyone else but me. There is nothing wrong with being "natural," but often it seems like men have a distorted view of whats natural. Or they just want someone low maintenance so they can be LVM. I am happy to be "high maintenance" because I am maintain myself. I feel so much better now without anyone weighing me down or constantly judging me.

They want to have sex with and be seen publicly with hot women, but that’s it. They choose plainer-looking women for LTRs and marriage. Being lusted after incessantly, while also being denied commitment for most of my adult life, I started researching this. Read somewhere that it’s a biological thing that goes back to prehistoric times. Cavemen didn’t trust settling down with women who too many other men found physically desirable, because it increased the likelihood that he may end up having to support offspring that weren’t biologically his. They have not evolved at all, and we’re made to feel inadequate. It’s all so sad.

Men don't want "natural", we all know that. What they want is a low maintenance woman who looks high maintenance without inconveniencing them and infringing on their time AND doesn't make them put in any extra effort.
