My wife and I are basically just working towards not working. A large part of the problem here is the fact that corporations don't care who you are. You can only earn a decent living by switching jobs every couple of years. The problem with this is there is no loyalty. I love it and wondered why i haven't been doing this my whole life. I used to be interested in it when i was very young but hmmmmm what happened? Oh that's right, i was around 8 or 9 and joined the "boy scouts" to hopefully learn some bushcraft and survival shit, ya know the type of shit you learn at boy scouts, tying ropes and shit.

I went to 3 meetings only to discover that this so called "boy scouts" was just under half GIRLS, and the majority of adults were women, I'm guessing the mothers of the girls. In those 3 meetings we didn't do a SINGLE THING i thought we would do in terms of boy scouts things, like rope tying, camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. Nah none of that shit, i remember the first time we painted flower pots, i cant really remember the rest but they were all girly girl activities, nothing i was interested in. The whole thing was set up to please the girls, so i said fuck this and never went back.

Feminists have had a massive hand in these so called "problems" that young men have. Its not my fucking fault it was this bullshit world i was raised in.

Most of all they destroyed our culture

Look at the Romans. Their culture was centered on male achievement and status seeking, and what did it do for them? They conquered the world and held it for 500 years

The West was built by ambitious men in every field: war, politics, science, industry, craftsmanship, piety, and scholarship

We have nothing masculine to aspire to anymore

They tell us we shouldn’t have kids because the climate is changing and the economy is difficult, so we longer aspire to build a family

They tell us we don’t deserve jobs or education because women and minorities should receive those opportunities, so we no longer aspire to professional or intellectual achievements

War and violence is mostly gone now and that’s good, but it leaves the largest void that can no longer be filled with surrogates

They tell us that our masculine urges are inherently evil and we are evil and disgusting for having them at all

They took away our communities where we could learn what it means to be a man from role models to show us what we could and should be doing

Also, video games and porn and drugs and food and quality of life are all so good and convenient now we’ve only known satiation. We don’t know what hunger for success or even survival feels like. We cannot fathom it anymore

We only sense a persistent intuition that something isn’t right with this world. Something was stolen from us by those who hate us because they hate us

Do you guys think that framing your concerns without slurs might help? As a woman reading this, I can't imagine many women wanting to help you after seeing slurs against them and intensely sexualising and dehumanising comments, or that they don't want to interact with women at all. I really want to help men feel okay in society, but maybe a lot of you should just think of different methods to help men so that as a woman I can feel comfortable helping without being worried that I'm supporting some alt-right movement that wants to create Margaret Atwood's Gillead.

Also, hypergamy? Really? If anything, heightened competition would likely drive men to work harder at improving themselves. I doubt there are any men strategically calculating that they shouldn't move out or get a job because women are statistically inclined to set standards high, or because Democrats are making times tough. Men have typically risen to meet challenges, if that's changed then there's a reason, and these arguments don't provide a reason why men would suddenly be less competitive and driven to solve problems.

Also, who was telling white men that they specifically were the best thing ever? Somehow I missed that pep-talk.

If the lady wants an actual serious reason, maybe consider that a lot of men have been deprived of masculine role models. Fatherlessness is rapidly rising, and we know this brings a whole host of issues, especially for boys and young men. Higher rates of delinquency and incarceration, poor school performance, lower rates of university attendance, and general instability. Combine this with the fact that men are less driven to be successful because they've been told that if they are successful it's necessarily unjust toward others.

I have to incline to agree, while women aren't any better.. I can't get rid of these adult children living at home. Get out, go get an apartment. If you weren't running off with half my food supply and breaking crap most of the time, I probably wouldn't care. You seem to think managing a Domino's Pizza is corporate America. If you live on your own, you can do what you want. Why should your parents have to pay for you not adulting.

This post is interesting but the comments blew me away more. I agree it's not a mans world and it sucks for us. SO FUCKING CHANGE IT. I used to be just like this lady described and I'm not all the way out but I am happy, married and with kids. I have to be an example to a boy and girl of what I want the world to be. Raise your dragon slayers in times of dragons. The amount of people just bitching that she's mad men don't want her to play the game of society anymore. Flip the fucking table over. Learn a skill that you love and find meaning. This woman is right, she doesn't understand why she is or why the men got that way but it's still sad. We can do better. If we don't men are doomed.
