Does the idea that bisexual men are ‘secretly gay’ just uphold the idea that, unlike women’s widely celebrated spectrum of sexuality, when it comes to men they are either gay, or heterosexual.

Has the discussion of men’s sexuality been left behind?

Are bisexual men forgotten about within the discussion of acceptance?

And is “the work” being done by all of us?

I have been speaking out about this for many years now. Gay men and Bi men each face unique and challenging struggles in America today. Bi men are constantly told that they don’t belong in either the straight or the gay communities because they “don’t understand the struggle” which ironically creates it’s on struggle. And we gay men are told that it’s our own “extreme form of misogyny” that prevents us from being intimate with women. In fact I recall many times where I’ve been told that I’m sexist because I won’t screw a woman.

What I truly believe is that all of us men (that is biological males only no exceptions) need to come together to fight against this nonsense because an attack on one man leads to an attack on all men.

Women find us threatening because we don't need them. The system of power over men that women have built up for themselves evaporates if men don't need pussy. Women are fine with gay men because they're exempt from the pussy control system, and straight men are the targets of it. But bisexual men just throw a wrench into the works.

Also, classic female hypocrisy shows its ugly face when you realize that women don't hold such prejudices against bisexual women as they do men. Women aren't considered targets, so again they're exempt.

This is not something that has "fallen through the cracks". This is something that is well known and well documented: women seek traditional values of masculinity in men while expecting a modern view of women from men, and women seek to manipulate/control male sexuality. Bisexual men go against these two against for women, hence the general disdain. Women also artificially inflate their own worth by playing this game of "men must be the pursuers", which bisexual men could just circumvent by seeking other men.

I'll repeat it again. It's all based in demonisation of male sexuality. Basically, the idea that having sex with a man is being "sullied".

That's why a lot of men are uneasy around gay men. Because they fear being sullied (stupid I know...)

That's why bisexual women who have had sex with men are seen as traitors by lesbians.

And that's why bisexual men are heavily rejected.

Because, by having been with a man (i.e. penetrated) they have been sullied.

It's the same demonization that's a root of inceldom. Many a man who struggle with dating does so, because they have this deeply entrenched idea that their sexuality is bad. And thus they can't express sexual interest toward women, because in their mind, it would be an insult.

This is a form of discrimination that i feel is very common and accepted.

With my trans, lesbian, gay "queer" (i hate the label) friends, im gay, because they are rather heterophobic, and dating a woman when bi is "betraying" the cause.

With my straight and often, bi female friends, im straight because their partners are not comfortable with bisexual men, and im in a relationship with a woman.

Its mostly the "LGBT" movement and women who descriminate on bi men, especially if you have experience with both genders in a relationship

Women most likely don't date bisexual men because they are seen as traditionally more feminine and it goes against their evolutionary instinct to choose a more masculine man (a warrior, protector, provider). It's an evolutionary (and in most ways societal) bias against less "masculine" men.

Unfortunately, there's not really much to change this. Even Straight Feminine Men have to deal with that sort of bias but it's not like it's the end-all-be-all of modern dating - some (very few) women like feminine men <Exceptions to the General Rule

The problem with women not dating bi men originated from the HIV scare of the 80s and 90s.

Women who contract HIV are far more likely to have gotten it from bi men than heterosexual men or gay/bi women.

The utilitarian answer goes like this - women innately desire a loyal monogamous man and future marriage material when they date. Bisexuality can be seen as a future failure vector for a relationship. Feminists, LGBT activists, and the dating women themselves often strive to obscure and ignore this underlying reality when talking about related topics.

The coherent application of this reasoning is often lacking though as there are a subset of women who fall for straight men who are non-provider non-loyal "bad boys". Perhaps those believe they're the one that will "tame" him. However, this "taming" compulsion doesn't seem to apply to bi men.

I'm a woman, and have been with my fianceé for two years, we knew each other all through high school and have been close that entire time. He was my first at 19 due to some health issues regarding intercourse on my end, and right from the start he told me that he had been with several dudes his age during the pandemic, we're both 20 at this point, and the only question I asked was "have you been tested?" since he had been with other partners. He had, and besides exploring our own sex life, it has never come up nor bothered me. He has a massive sex drive that I am able to match, and we both adore each other. I have never once doubted his attraction to me or to women in general. It feels to me like people think that an amount of attraction to one sex somehow correlates to a proportionate reduction in attraction to the other sex i guess. Idk, or it could be just plain insecurity.

This is not a surprise. Even gay people discriminate against bisexuals. And, it's their prerogative as much as women discriminate against men who are less than 6ft tall.

One thing to be noted in the "trend" here is straight women are perhaps the most discriminating group of all when it comes to potential partners. ~ 90% of them want the 10% quality of men, and feel "cheated" if they "had to settle for less" thereby setting their own precedent for disappointment.

Oh man, I dated a bi woman who said she would never sleep with a man who had slept with another man. However, her phobia for sleeping with a man who had ever slept with even the most remotely defined male didn't end there...

Long after we had gone our separate ways, I told her about an assigned-female-at-birth (AFAB) I dated who identified as a "boy-girl." This was back in 2010, before trans issues were constantly in the mainstream media, so when my "boy-girl" date showed me her ID that listed her as male, I thought that she was born male and was some sort of tomboy transwoman (even though she was less than 5 feet tall, had an exceedingly feminine voice, and a very petite, soft-featured face); 22-year-old me didn't know that you could change your sex on your government-issued IDs.

Anyway, my bi ex told me that if I had dated the "boy-girl" before we had met, she would never have slept with me.

Later, I mentioned that I had been confused and that my "boy-girl" ex was indeed born biologically female, which made my bi ex reverse on what she had said before.

What I don't understand is, why are bi women so unwilling to sleep with men who have slept with men, when they themselves sleep with men (and presumably with women who have slept with men)? It all seems so illogical, not to mention bigoted.

I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say 'nobody'. People talk about this **a lot** where I'm from. I'm a straight guy who talks about sex for a living and the topic comes up pretty much whenever bi men come up. And it comes up in the media I consume.

Are there specific outlets or places you want to see this talked about more? We all have different algorithms and media we consume — so I'd be curious what it is you do consume daily that 'never' talks about it. (I'm not doubting you — I just want to hear where you're coming from.)

People have their preferences. I had some gay,lesbian, and bi friends in my younger years. I am surrounded by gay people in my building.

I like them there have been kind to me, so I look at the way a person treats me, not because they are this or that.

I have been inside and outside the church. I have been treated shitty by some church people like others who are mean.

I just don't stick around mean people. I do like to understand other people's struggles, too. When I was younger, the straight guy I dated said he liked to beat up guys.

I said do that and I won't talk to you. I said, "Why do you have to do that kind of stuff? I know what bullying is, so naturally, I am against it.

I don't think anyone should be bullied regardless of who they are. You don't have to agree with everyone. But you don't have to punch them out because you're insecure with them.

People bully everyone, including fat people. Leave them alone. You don't know what they are going through.

I think people have all kinds of phobias, especially with straight men, because they are afraid of guys coming on to them and unwanted touching.

I know what sexual harassment and rape are. Prehaps they think if one person has done that, then the whole bunch will. I know that's not true.

Just like people think all gays and lesbians and bi's are child molesters. I know that isn't true. I believe that there are those who wouldn't hurt children in that way.

I did some research, so I know. But the whole pussy power thing as a woman i never done it. But I do think some guys will turn that into a kink thing. With the whole domination submission thing.

A submissive guy wants a woman to dominate him like a dominatrix. That's what some of them call pussy power.

I have heard a lot about stuff like that. I wouldn't get off on that. But do believe people do that stuff behind closed doors with role playing.

I don't know everything but I have listened to guys express what they are into. I love to listen to men but I am not into jumping their bones. I would rather love them like a brother.

I have found all kinds of guys like that. I don't want to kiss every guy to get to the right one. I am tired of that. I rather just be friends. If the friendship grows then no emotions have been affected for the wrong ones.

Besides I don't want any more wound mates. I am the kind of person that if I love and adore you I won't want to play the leap frog game. I just haven't found that one. Not looking for body counts.

I just wanted to give my prospective because not all of us straight women want to intentionally hurt other's. When you have been hurt a lot, you feel badly when others get hurt.

Religious people don't always understand the LGBTQ if they haven't been around them. I think Christians are ignorant about a lot of things. I loved my friends. One of them protected me from almost getting hurt.

Please don't think all of us straight women are all a like. I think we all have our preferences. Not everyone is going to go for a woman like me.

I am okay with that. I have had dudes reject me. But I am okay with that because they probably weren't right for me anyway.

The right one will hopefully appreciate me more than that will make up for all the ones who treated me horribly.

I have come across bisexual guys on the chatline. I actually got into a conversation with a few.

I asked this one guy who identified as bi. Who would he choose romantically? Male or Female. He told me females and guys he just likes for sex.

Another guy was asking women if he was gay? He sounded worried. So I asked him why he felt this way?

He said he was out on the town with his buddy, and they were at a bar and both crashed at his place in his bed.

He woke up to his friend, perking him off. So he said, "Am I gay? So I asked him. (I used to listen to these sex experts on the radio. It only felt natural to ask a few questions without him having a lot of details.)

Who would you want romantically? He said women. I said, "Did you enjoy it with your friend? He was kinda confused about that part.

So I said to him, "If it's a one-time experience, then you're not gay. But since you like women and you continue doing stuff with your friend, then chances are your bisexual.

I remembered what the first guy told me so I could help this guy figure it out. In a sense, it wasn't with premission, so it would be considered a violation.

But I also said if they slept in separate rooms, if he came in, it would be considered more of a violation.

But since they fell asleep in the bed together, maybe his friend thought it was an open invitation to wake him up in a surprised manner. So it's up to both of them to be clear on how they see it.

I, being an outsider, would see it as being violated on the basis that he didn't give the other guy premission. But people can assume things, right?

So regardless of what I think it's between them. I try to stay neutral on things I don't know about.

The thing is, he may not have known his friend was either gay or bisexual. But I also said if you don't want to go down that road, then sleep in separate rooms.

I have heard all kinds of stories from men on this subject. I don't have to engage in it myself, but I wanted to help him think it through because I know what confusion is like.

I also didn't want to decide for him other than I told him it could be a rough life based on what I had heard and read about.

I only said that because he sounded quite naive, and if anything, I am naturally protective.

I have gone down a rough road myself, and being naive doesn't fit in with it.

There were a lot of males I have talked to, and I asked them how they got into the gay/bi lifestyle. Some were experimental as boys, or they were molested.

Most of the guys I talked to said they were molested. Now that's stats for my city area alone.

It doesn't speak for all of you. But I was reading psychology today, and there was a book based on men being bisexual.

But the book seemed to mention that men weren't considered fully bisexual. I just wish I could find this book so you could read it.

I think it was about being men almost bisexual but not completely. I thought it sounded interesting. I love psychology today and discovering articles that make me think.

I almost wished I had gone into therapy mainly because men really need to be heard. But the hard thing now a days it therapists could fall into sex easily.

That would violate male woman therapy. But I don't have the money to go into it. I just wouldn't mind getting training. If I could do therapy with men, it would have to be not in an office.

I keep thinking if I could do it outdoors like a picnic where it's relaxing in public view. I hear so many horror stories. Why would I pick men? Because men need to see women do care about them.
