I just went to grab a coffee with my 5 year old. I was loading him into my car when I was approached by a man around 6’+, mind you, I’m 5’4”. He asked if I had change, which I never do. He kept asking if there was a way I could buy him coffee and breakfast. He then got a little closer and proceeded to point out how nice my jacket was (Sherpa fleece from Target two years ago, looks nicer than it is) and how nice my car is. I felt pressured and extremely uncomfortable so I bought him food and coffee through the Starbucks app.

A larger truck parked next to my car so there was no sight line to the coffee place. It’s not fair that as women we are pressured into things like this because we don’t feel safe.

Okay there's one thing I don't understand.

Half of my social network is Asian (including SEA people and Indians), and all of the Asian guys I know except one or two, are dating Asian girls, but half of the Asian girls I know are dating white guys. So if most of the Asian guys I know are in relationships somehow even though a lot of Asian girls aren't dating Asian guys, how do the logistics work out? Closing this year with having completed my master's degree, I am unsure of what to focus on next. Obviously fulltime employment is the first thing, but that's a given, and more for survival than happiness. I spent a good 5-7 years dating, but found that to be largely hopeless due to my appearance and have been out of it for a couple of years.

Some progress has been made since; improved physical fitness and a little bit of weight lost. But I still can't help but to feel like jumping back into dating would be a waste of time and resources. Of course, getting into the "normal" rhythm of life, not having to dedicate my attention between work and studies, leaves an "empty space" that could be filled.

But I don't think my value is there yet. I don't know if it'll ever be, frankly. My time is running out though; choosing not to pursue dating for the next couple of years will mean that my chance has passed.

Not sure where I'm going with this. Just wondering about life and its shifting priorities, I guess.

Just in from the warehouse job. Tonight the MOD put me on end-of-line and furthermore decided I would cover two lines, not one as is usual. I met my current bf anonymously and initially wasn’t super attracted to him physically but most guys would consider him Chad-like in terms of appearance and dating potential.
