How does age preference for a man change throughout the life of a woman looking for the physically most attractive man?

From a visual standpoint only, I’d say about 25-35 for older women.

For younger women, more like 22-27/28.

Under 30 is objectively most attractive, but women past a certain point start to see guys under 25 or so as kids, which shifts preferences slightly older.

I'm in my 40s and purely physically younger men are more attractive it depends on the guy as some might look very boyish until they are well into their 20s and that would be less appealing now to me although my preference when I was that age. Now a guy of 25 - 35 as long as he's physically mature is most sexually appealing to me.

However I wouldn't be interested in just casual sex with a much younger man and I'd prefer to date a guy around my own age for non physical reasons such as same life stage, same life experience, same cultural references, emotional and mental maturity, hopefully I'd be attracted to him as well ans he'd be a good sexual partner as well. I'm not single so all this is moot but if I were on balance I prefer around my own age +/- 5 years-ish.

15-21-year-old Bluestjuice: dated a 17-23-year-old. At that age younger guys were unthinkable, guys 1-4 years older were attractive. Dating beyond my scholastic cohort didn’t seem like an option (think: high schoolers in high school, college students in college).

22-24: guys between 22 and about 36 were interesting.

24-32: married to a man 12 years older than me. Wasn’t paying enormous attention to my attraction or the relevant ages but I feel like it’s just shifted slowly up at approximately the same rate as I aged.

32-38: 30-48ish? 50 feels a little old to me currently but I wouldn’t rule it out for the right guy. Mid 30s is probably about the age when I started to actually be willing to consider dating someone more than a touch younger than me. A 25-year-old feels young enough that it would have to be a really compelling pairing, but 30s would probably be fine.

My (38) current partners are 46 and 39, for reference. FWIW, although my preferences have tended to skew more than a bit older, I’ve also always had the impression I was something of an outlier in this regard.

Based on pure physical, women do find men in their 20's most attractive. For women though, finding someone attractive is not the swaying factor of her willingness to have sex with/be with him unless it's just a one off, never to see him again if she's into that. Most women aren't into casual or one night stands.

I can appreciate the eye candy that is younger men without trying to get sex with them. It would seem many men cannot do that with young women.

I’m 35 and I find guys 23-25 the most attractive. There are a handful that are attractive around my age but they are in relationships or married. Some celebrity men are attractive that are 38-44 but I’ve never met a guy in real life that age that I find attractive. Not yet anyway.

I’m 24. I guess peak attractiveness is maybe late 20s. Depends on the man. Some men lose babyfat and get more attractive with age. Objectively 20 year olds look good but their behaviour seems immature based on their looks.

Men don't get better looking with age as a rule but you can stay pretty much the same between 25-40 if you look after yourself, get lucky.

I think what people really lose is that spark though because life becomes very mundaine; there's an energy that youth allows to be exhibited that becomes harder as you age.

I'm 33. A 25 year old looks like a baby too me. My bf is 3 years younger than me. That's my maximum number down. Up I would probably go to 40. I couldn't imagine being with a 25 year old.

I think it's for age peers up to about 40, and then stays there, although women after that age may still prefer someone their age as a partner due to discomfort of feeling old and ugly with a much younger man.

I'm different than most, but I love a younger man. My husband is 10 years younger than I and I adore him. Younger guys have more stamina and are open-minded in a way older men rarely are. The oldest I'd consider now would be 40, but I really can't imagine dating a man that age because they usually have a divorce and some kids and I don't want to deal with that

When I was 25 I dated 25, now Im 35 and dating 38. Women in majority attracted to their age, young insecure ones may be manipulated into old men but its psychological aka insecure styke of attachment/"daddy issues" etc etc. Thought of age gap 6+years was always 🤢. Younger men may look objectively handsome but Im not sexually attracted, they are kids for me, much older also meh. But I dont value sex without relationship, its emply and wortless, and true equal healthy relationship is rare as unicorn in age gap couples.

Younger women (teens-20's) tend to prefer boyish looking guys (softer features) as they seem to be of similar age to them. Older men remind them of their fathers.

Older women (30's and older) tend to prefer more manly looking guys (rougher features) as they seem to be of similar age. Younger men remind them of children.

I can see a guy under 30 and think wow he’s handsome - but they sort of seem like a kid to me now and I don’t envision anything physical with them.

I've always enjoyed being propositioned by older women. Had one in her forties coming at me, she's a doctor, was kinda hot actually. Couldn't imagine it's that much different the other way around. If you take care of yourself and have your shit together then yeah, it's a thing for older men to date younger women. The main difference is that there isn't much pretext of a younger dude dating an older woman being as serious as the other way around... for obvious reasons.

As I've gotten older my age has increased. When I was 20? 25 was ideal. Now at 33 under 40 but not younger than 30 is where I'm at.

I couldn't imagine dating someone as young as 25 anymore.

As I have had a hairy barrel chest, dorito shaped back and a full stubble since 13 I will say anecdotally that as long as you do not act and look like a kid, age is not as significant of a factor as you might think
