I see so many posts about traditional roles men and women are supposed to have but I never see any posts about traditional courtship. So I have to ask is romance dead?

Dose any one send love letters anymore? I’m not talking about text messages I’m talking actual physical hand written love letters that are meant only for the 2 people involved. Are men trying to woo women in a traditional fashion anymore like maybe if a date goes well send flowers to her or just show small tokens of appreciation and interest? Has online dating completely ruined this and if so do you think there is any possibility of it going back?

Women I have to ask how would you react to a man that did these kind of things? Would you be more prone to try and build a relationship with a man that wooed you and tried to warm your heart before they tried to have sex with you?

It seems to me that modern dating is purely transactional and superficial and lacks real intimacy and that is what everyone is craving. It’s seems to be based on some weird game with weird rules with the end game being sex not actual deep connection.

If I sound naïve it’s because admittedly I am. I have been out of the dating game for a really long time and was only in it for a short time in my life and that’s because I knew what my end game was and I dated accordingly. You may say I’m an outlier and I probably am and probably an extreme one at that. I will give you a little bit of my background. I’m 41 and have been with my husband since I was 20. I have a fairly large social circle with a fairly diverse group of people. I haven’t spent much time on the internet or on social media in fact I’ve tried to avoid it until now. I came here to try to get an understanding of what is going on after talking with so many single people and hearing their struggles this is all very alien to me and seems really unnatural.
