1. In high school being a short or scrawny isn't nearly as much of a deal breaker as it is in your 20s. Teenage girls often times fixate on singular features; some like a guy for his hair, or how cute his smile is, or his eyes , some like jocks, others skinny artistic boys, some are into funny nerds and class clowns ...a guy just needs to be somewhat "cute" to them.
  2. this already starts to change in college as girls start caring more about height; the chick that stopped growing in 8th grade now wants a tall dude with broad shoulders because she'd like to feel protected, the tall chick wants a tall man to feel smaller and feminine. The insecure girl with thunder thighs discovers that there are ripped frat bros into cottage cheese (even if only for a one night stand)
  3. the deeper into their 20s women get the more conventional and narrow their taste evolves; by 25 most of them grow out of their rebellious phase and with it their love for unconventional, alternative or androgynous men slowly starts to vane. Now they're picking guys which their social circle would approve.
  4. by the time they're 30 they tolerate baldness more, but also discern who looks good whilst bald, calculating in advance "how will he look if he goes bald", now you need a facial structure that will carry hairloss with grace into old age, and a hot body to compensate it.
